Quick Quotes
Q. Firstly, congratulations, incredible win last week at The Open de France. How were the celebrations and has it settled it?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it was a quiet one. I had dinner with Dan and my team and Mackie's family. We had a nice, quiet evening, which was just what was needed, yeah.
Q. How excited are you to be back for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this week?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it's always a great week, and to be a past winner, as well, is pretty cool. To win it with my mum, as well, was special. I'm excited for the week. Obviously pray every year that the weather seems to be okay but I think it's forecast not too bad, so we'll see.
Q. A real family affair this week, we saw you yesterday practicing with your mum, brother and dad. The question is: Who has drawn the short straw playing with your dad in the team competition, and will you be keeping that partnership with your mum?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Unfortunately not. Mum didn't defend the title in '23. Had to get my dad in. But yeah, it's nice that we can all play and looking forward to Saturday.
Q. It's the 25th anniversary of the event. What makes it such a special week?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Being able to play such quality golf courses, historic golf courses that have held so many great championships, not only Dunhill but The Opens, as well. It's always an amazing week, and to be able to play these golf courses with my family is really special.
Q. Some changes have been made to the Old Course with the 11th tee pushed back and Ia few fairway bunkers added on the 16th. Arguably the biggest change. How excited are you about the test in tournament conditions?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, be interesting to see how it is. It's obviously different, and obviously with the fairway now, it is obviously people might play a little bit more left. But be interesting to see how it plays in the tournament.
