ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

September 30, 2026

Robert MacIntyre

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. Returning as defending champion, how excited are you to be back?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, it's good to be back. Just to see the special moments again, and see the things that have happened have been incredible, especially the Home of Golf.

It's just good to be home.

Q. Any time you can win on home soil is special, especially as a Scotsman at the Home of Golf, in front of family and friends, doesn't get much better than that, does it?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: It's always good. This year is a bit quieter. Family is growing and a bit busy at home with other stuff. A bit quieter so far this week but hopefully if I can get some good golf this week, we'll all come down in groups and the car and give them another special week.

Q. How are you finding dad life so far?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: It's different. It's busy. You've not got as much time on your hands, but yeah, it's been incredible.

Q. How excited are you to hang up your picture today at The Dunvegan a bit later, a tradition for defending champions?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: It's cool. I actually don't know if I've even been in the pub to be honest with you. A first for me, being in there but yeah keep the tradition going.

Q. We spoke with you midway through the BMW PGA Championship and you weren't entirely happy with where your game was at but you went on to finish tied for 10th, adding to good form at The Irish Open. Where do you feel your game is at this week?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, it's all right. I've had what is it, three, four, Top 15s in the last four events. It's decent.

Is it the level I want it at? No, I'll be honest, but there won't be very many people here this week saying their game isn't in tip-top shape. Hopefully I can find something in my warmup today and my practice out on the course today, and yeah, who knows.

Q. How excited are you to see a couple changes made to the Old Course?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: That's one of the biggest things I'm looking forward to seeing. I don't know -- the biggest change, I think, is going to be the 16th hole that's now taken away the rough and made it fairway and put pot bunkers in there. I don't know if it will be easy or hard. I know people will still probably hit it out-of-bounds to the left because out-of-bounds on the right.

I don't know if it will make it easier to stop the golf ball from the fairway rather than the rough. Yeah, excited to see it.
