Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Aki Iwai after her final round here at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. Really strong effort from you today to try and come back. What was the mindset coming into this round?

AKI IWAI: So today I was thinking it's going to be low every player. That's why I have to go. I need more aggressive and that's why.

Yeah, I was -- today was a solid day.

Q. You had the five straight birdies on the front which was your back. What was working so well during that stretch?

AKI IWAI: Together, I mean, driver also, iron shot also, putting also together.

Q. And did you have a number in mind when you came into today? Like I have to shoot this or try to go as low as possible?

AKI IWAI: Just try -- I just going to try, yeah. I don't care result. I just, yeah, hit it. Hit it. (Laughter.)

Q. Is this the most birdies you've made in a row?

AKI IWAI: No.

Q. No?

AKI IWAI: No. I had maybe seven, eight in Japan.

Q. Okay.

AKI IWAI: Yeah.

Q. On a rainy condition like this where you made five birdies on your back nine, what was working so well when you were just able to hit shots so close to the hole make birdie putts?

AKI IWAI: So, yes, exactly. This week greens are so soft. That's why, especially today. So I was like -- I need more aggressive. Like, yeah, I need hit three, four yards past the pin usually.

Yes, like that.
