Quick Quotes
Q. Viktor, how will you assess your week?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: It was pretty rough. I felt like the first two days I did a pretty good job of scoring. I chipped and putted it very well.
But over the weekend, the poor playing kind of caught up to me.
Q. Does the test, like the golf test, not really avail like the weakness or your strength of your game?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: I would say so. Although maybe this week, because there's hardly been any wind, up until today, I think some of the holes played a little bit wider. I think the rough was not as penalizing as maybe it could be.
So I feel like I would definitely say I got lucky quite a few times when I hit bad shots and I actually had decent lies to be able to get it somewhere up against the green.
But, yeah, over the course of 72 holes, if you hit too many poor shots, it's going to catch up.
Q. What can you build on from this week?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: I mean, the chipping and putting I feel like has been really good the last, I'd say, month or two, which that's always nice. But I just got to keep trying to find something that I can rely on, because off the tee, it's pretty shocking.
Q. It feels like you're really disappointed, like it feels like you are -- yeah, in French we would say like I feel it, I can feel it.
VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, yeah, it's -- it's supposed to be fun, and I want to go out there and enjoy myself, but it's tough when you see some of those shots that go 150 yards left, and then the next shot it goes the other way, and you don't know what to do about it.
That's pretty frustrating. And I still try to grind as hard as I can, and I do a pretty good job of even just finishing the tournament.
But, yeah, it's frustrating because it's been going on for quite a while now.
Q. What was it, the atmosphere, with the crowd? Was it a cool cheer?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, I mean, just the "Allez, Allez" and just hearing how my name was pronounced in French, I quite liked the sound of it, it's cool. And very, very supportive crowds out there. It was a blast to play in front of them, even though I wish I could bring in some better play. But they were very supportive.
Q. Will you be back, then?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: I'd like to think so. Yeah. Not prepared to say yes, I'll be back next year, but, you know, if the schedule allows for it, I'd definitely like to come back here. I really enjoy the golf course, enjoy the people, and obviously being so close to Paris, I think it's a great week.
Q. Where will you be next, on the next week? What are you doing?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: I'm scheduled to play in India in a couple weeks.
