GEOFF OGILVY: What a day. The U.S. Team, they came out firing as we knew they would. They were up in all four in the morning, and we thought we stole a point and a half a little bit to get out of that with only 2½-1½.

This afternoon, same thing. The U.S. guys came out playing well, which we know they're going to. They're some of the best players in the world. But the boys hung tough and sort of weathered the storm if you like and started making a few putts. To get 2-2 in that session was a really good result for us.

Q. It felt like the momentum killer for the opposition is how you guys have absolutely dominated the par-3s. I know you're aware of it. Is it something? Is it nothing? You guys are just absolutely on fire when it comes to the short holes.

GEOFF OGILVY: You know what, I'm not really sure. I'm sure people in the background will have some sort of explanation for it. I don't know, maybe they're just hitting good shots. Sometimes there's some aberrations in stats.

The thing that's really nice and makes me proud of my team is how well they've played the last five, six holes, the last couple of putts, especially today. These are not easy things to close out when all your teammates turn up and the crowds get bigger and bigger on the last few holes.

For Corey to hole a putt like that on the last and Min Woo and Foxy winning going away -- they were really struggling and they were having a tough match, and they played really well toward the end. That's what a captain wants to see.

Q. You guys were up 4 at the beginning of the day. You turned the tide. How were you able to get it done?

GEOFF OGILVY: I don't know. It's those guys that got it done. It shows you the spirit of this team is really strong. That's tough to weather that storm and you see all red on the board in the morning, and we somehow snuck out with a point and a half out of that session, which we felt like was a little bit of a win, how that session was going.

Then the same sort of thing this afternoon. We were down in all four very early, and that's tough when the boys see that on the leaderboard, but they kept hanging in. They played the back nine so well. I keep hearing about these par-3 numbers, and I haven't really looked at those. I guess I'll have a look later on after this.

Just proud of the boys. As I said, it's tough when there's all red on the board, but to get 2-2 out of that afternoon session and to go into tomorrow with a lead, which was the goal at the start of the week, I'm very proud of them.

Q. What was the message at the beginning of the day, and do you feel the guys were able to deliver on the course?

GEOFF OGILVY: Well, the messaging was at about 4:15 this morning, so they're not really listening. Look, it's great to win 5-0 on Friday, but we've got two-thirds of the points still on the board, and we knew the U.S. would come out firing. Just hang tough. You never know. Just get one more hole. Just keep the matches going as late as you can.

The way the spirit is in this team, they're finishing off these matches really well. These guys know what they're doing. Stay in there, don't get ahead of yourself. This is a long week, and we've got 12 points to play for tomorrow. There's still a long way to go.

Q. What's your premonition of these guys going into the final round tomorrow? They've been fighting back. Give us your assessment.

GEOFF OGILVY: What an incredible effort today. Up the last yesterday, Nick hit an amazing shot. Now 3-down early. It was a tough leaderboard to look at sort of halfway through that session, both sessions really.

But to fight back like that, we knew they had it in them. Two Canadians sticking together, we knew that would be good, comfortable pairing and exciting for them both to represent this team with another Canadian by their side. It's really exciting.

To be 3-down and win a Presidents Cup match, that's really impressive.

Q. How good does it feel to be going into tomorrow's Sunday singles with a chance to win this?

GEOFF OGILVY: It feels great. The goal at the start of the week is to be leading going into singles. That's sort of what the first four days are all about. There's still 12 points on the board, though, so we've seen in these team events all sorts of different things can happen. So we've got to put our heads down and play for a big opportunity tomorrow.
