Q. Si Woo, those back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to seal the deal at the end, tough hole locations and you were aggressive. We know that you like to go after flagsticks. What was your approach down the stretch to close this out and flip the match?

SI WOO KIM: Usually I go to the first tee, and I was kind of between numbers, and my caddie Manny told Tom, can you go first, 5-iron. So yeah, at the time I was just like, I was between clubs. But if he hit it first, only if not in the water I can hit it closer, and then it was perfect number for the first swing. It worked through very well.

Yeah, I was kind of lucky. I hit a little spinny shot, but somehow it carried, and he give me a really good read, so I just trusted it.

Q. And made putts on top to make it count. Tom, what is it about this event, about this pairing that seems to always bring out the best in both of you and your games?

TOM KIM: You know, I think days like today definitely solidify our camaraderie. I think I wasn't really there for him today. I only made two birdies, maybe three. But when I was struggling, he definitely had my back, and he stepped up. When he was in position, I tried to do the best I can to read the greens for him.

I think me giving him certain good reads, it gives him confidence, and at the same time, I just look at him and I feel like he's going to make it. There's a lot of confidence there.

Personally on 16, the par-3, when I wanted to hit it close, we really talked it out and said, hey, let's get one in play first and see if we have the chance to actually go for it. That's what I did. I hit it in play, hit it in the bunker, just to give him the freedom to be able to go aggressive. I think those little moments really show that this team works.
