THE MODERATOR: Carla, it's been a long time since you got to the semifinals. Even though Spain lost today, what do you take from this competition and this week?

CAPTAIN SUAREZ NAVARRO: Well, I said day before, I am really proud of my players, the way they fight, the way they compete, also the feeling that I have.

They are all together. They have the same goal. They have the same dream. We have to work. We have to improve. I know how difficult is this competition.

Well, I think this year we make a step forward. We lost today, for sure, I know it will be tough. You play against two top 10, always tough to compete like that.

But I'm happy. I'm proud of them.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. It's a tough day today, but how proud are you of your team? What have been your highlights of the whole week, not just today?

CAPTAIN SUAREZ NAVARRO: No, well, we were really good. We were here last year. We know how to play here. I know this competition is really tough to win. Also the conditions that we have all the week, Kaitlin arrive the day before. Also Cristina, she arrive too late.

But for me it's okay because they were competing the week before, and they win the singles in Sao Paulo, they win doubles in Guadalajara. I'm really happy for them. But is tough to prepare the competition like this.

I said before, I mean, these girls are making really good group. They are like a family. That for me is so important. They are so young. At the same time we have players with a lot of experience. I think that help to my team.

Well, next year we are going to fight again, and let's try to be in the Finals one more year.

Q. Do you think having reached the semifinals this year, that will inspire your team on having played against an incredibly strong Czech team today, that that shows your team what it needs to do to improve to make it to the next level?

CAPTAIN SUAREZ NAVARRO: Well, you have to be more regular, more constant. The good players, the top players, they can mistake sometimes at the beginning of the match or in some games.

In the important moments, they always are there. They serve good. They return good. They put pressure to you all the time. You have to be there.

I think that's the next level that the girls need to take, need to have. They need to work. For me is positive because they know how to work, how to improve. When you play against these players, you see the level, also the rhythm. That's it.

In tennis you have to work. There is not other chance.

Q. Quarterfinals last year, semifinals this year. Do you think you're building momentum? Maybe the team isn't quite ready to win the title yet, but you can see the potential that maybe next year or in a few years, that becomes a realistic possibility?

CAPTAIN SUAREZ NAVARRO: Yeah, I think so. They are very young. Last year and this year I call players that they play for Spain for the first time. They have a really good level. They need matches and moments like this, no?

Let's try. We are here for work. I am here to help the players. But yeah, I think we are going step by step. I think we are closer every year.
