THE MODERATOR: Karolina, how special is it to win the first point for Czechia in such an important semifinal of the Billie Jean King Cup?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Yeah, very special. It's been a while for me playing Billie Jean King Cup. So to bring the first point to our locker, as well giving Linda some, let's say, air that she doesn't have to feel that much pressure that she needs to win is important. I'm happy I was able to bring that first point today.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. You didn't play on Tuesday. What was it like, the first sort of taste of this competition on court as opposed to being off court on Tuesday?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Yeah, it's different. But we have such a strong team and so many options. It was nice as well to be supporting the team.

We have such a nice team. We have good days together, going dinner. It's nice as well to give the support to the girls when they play, then receive it, as well.

So yeah, Tuesday for me, I was ready to play doubles if we got there, but girls played amazing. We won 2-Love after singles.

Today I was happy to get on the court and play in that atmosphere. I'm very happy that I managed to bring the first point to the Czech Republic.

Q. Is it competitive within the team? When you're in practice, say, are you having to really prove to your captain that you should be selected for singles?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: I don't think so. I don't really think we have that mentality. I think we all give our best and hundred percent at the practices. We've been having great week practicing all with each other.

As I said, we have a lot of options to put the singles. It's on Bara who she's going to pick. Yeah, so far she's doing very great with that.

Q. I know the tie is still going on, it's a long way, but how special would it be for your career and personally to get to the final here this week?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Definitely very special, especially with Czech having such a big history and the girls, the other generation, won it so many times. Definitely would be special to win it, as well.

We are in semis, and that's what we have in our heads, what we are focusing on. But we are doing everything we can to get a chance to play the final.

Q. Today is Autumn Festival, a important occasion for Chinese people. It's about family reunion. On this day you managed to make your comeback to the Billie Jean King Cup. You secure a very tough and amazing victory. How do you see today?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Thank you very much.

Yeah, I've heard that it's a holidays today in China. It was nice to see so many people, as well, coming to follow the match. The stands are packed. It's super nice to get that support from Chinese fans.

I'm really glad that I managed to win. It was a very tough match. I think Jessica played really well. I'm really happy that I managed to win in two sets.
