The first tee time tomorrow morning will be 7:02 a.m. The International Team will have the honor on the first tee. The forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies, easterly winds, 5 to 10 miles per hour, 57 degrees for a low, 70 degrees for a high. Have a good evening.

Q. Brandt, I say this respectfully, but you have been saying everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth, and I want to just kind of -- I'm curious about the plan. Does it change after today?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: I think we have to look at it, obviously. It didn't go great. I feel like our guys played pretty well, all in all. I know the scoreboard doesn't reflect it, but we're only one-third of the way through this thing. There's a lot of golf left to play.

We've got a lot of high-character guys in our room. I love the way the guys competed today. It's a long golf tournament. I keep telling those guys this is a football game and we're not even at halftime yet. We've got three more sessions to go, a lot of golf in front of us. I'm really confident in our guys. I'm really confident in what they bring to the table.

I'm excited about this challenge. We haven't it in front of us for the next 54 holes really.

Q. Geoff, how much can you guys learn from what you did in Canada two years ago Friday and then how Saturday unfolded? Is that even brought up with this team?

GEOFF OGILVY: I guess we'll see if we learned tomorrow.

Yeah, we obviously had a great day. Didn't expect that to happen, but I guess we've got experience from 2024 having a Friday like that.

Like I said, we've got to celebrate a good day but reset because, as Brandt answered it perfectly, this is a long tournament, and we're only a little bit of the way through it. Tomorrow is a big day; there's 8 points, and then there's still 20 points to go.

It's obviously enjoyable to have a day like that on the golf course, but we reset tomorrow and start again.

Q. Brandt, you answered a question yesterday about the fans. What do you hope to hear tomorrow?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: I thought the fans were great today. Really, they came out -- it seemed like there was more people out there. They were engaged. It's hard to get the fans going when we just couldn't get any momentum out there. It seemed like every time we started to do something or hit quality golf shots, we couldn't converge.

Hat's off to the International Team. They did a great job of stifling any momentum we had going today. This happens in golf. You have days where things don't fall into place for you. That's why our guys are built so that they can do this every week. They're used to adversity.

These guys got a huge challenge in front of them now, and it's an opportunity. We're going to view it as an opportunity.

Q. Brandt, the Cameron Young-Justin Thomas foursomes pairing today, can you explain how that pairing came to be? Was that a plan coming into the week, or was that an adjustment on the fly based on things you were seeing?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: That was something we had thought about beforehand. We felt like Justin and Cam had played so well the first day, it was going to be kind of hard to keep them off the golf course.

That's one of the things as captain you look back on maybe when this thing is all over with it might not have been the right decision, but it seemed like the right decision at the time. Those guys are both great guys. They played fantastic on Thursday. Just kind of felt like I'd roll with it.

But love those guys. They battled their ass off today. Just didn't quite get the right momentum we wanted.

Q. I'm curious to hear from both of you guys just your impressions of how the golf course has been playing. Obviously conditions have changed a bunch throughout the week, and just curious, compared to your expectations maybe.

BRANDT SNEDEKER: I thought the golf course firmed up a ton today. The ball was bouncing around a lot. The greens were pretty difficult. Chipping is very difficult for these guys around there. Probably a totally different golf course than we saw last week when we got here.

It's going to continue to change with the weather forecast we have over the next two days. It will keep getting tough. Good golf shots get rewarded; bad shots get penalized.

I'm going to keep saying we've got a great opportunity in front of us. That golf course is going to get firmer and harder, and it's going to demand more and more of everybody in this event to be able to hit it close and make birdie putts.

It's a great challenge our team has in front of it.

GEOFF OGILVY: What was the question again?

Q. How is the golf course playing, and how does it compare to your expectations?

GEOFF OGILVY: I've got two hats to answer that question with. Yeah, it's an incredibly different golf course than Monday and Tuesday. I mean, there was a ton of rain here on the weekend. I guess it's a pretty good advertisement for putting in a lot of drainage.

It was one of the requests, I think, from Medinah, and part of the whole plan was we said you need a bit more width on the fairways, but if you're going to do that, you've got to be able to get your greens firm at any time. From an architecture perspective, I'm glad, and an construction point of view, it's pretty satisfying you can have that much rain in the week leading up and we can be playing a pretty firm, fast golf course three days later.

Yeah, like Brandt said, it asks a lot of questions. It's probably tougher than I would have expected. It's very cool, so the balls I don't think are going a ton of distance. It's not that windy, but the wind hits the ball pretty hard. Especially into the wind, it seems to play pretty long. Yeah, it looks like a pretty tough golf course out there.

Q. Brandt, obviously Scottie and Sam have been in two really tight matches so far. Was there any thought to breaking them apart tomorrow, and what went into the thought process of keeping them together for a third straight session?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: I think they both -- the first two matches, they both played really well, I thought. There wasn't anything that kind of made me want to break them up. I feel like they're -- as I said from day one, they're best friends. They play a ton of golf together. I want them both to feel comfortable and go out there and do what they do.

Hat's off to the Canadian group today; they played fantastic. Sometimes that happens in golf. I really liked that pairing, really like those guys together. Excited for what these next few sessions hold for them.

Q. Geoff, knowing there's a quick turnaround to tomorrow morning, I wonder what the balance is for you guys in the team room of looking to capitalize on the momentum and emotion of today and the acknowledgement that there's still 20 points on the board left to play for.

GEOFF OGILVY: I think it's kind of both, right? You've got to acknowledge that we had a really good day and you've got to feel good about it and build some confidence out of that, but you also have to acknowledge that there's 20 points left on the board.

Tomorrow is a very long day. It's one of the longest days in golf. They say to qualify for the U.S. Open is a long day, but Saturday at the Presidents Cup is a very long day. So energy conservation and sort of resetting to go tomorrow is probably the order of the day. So we do both.

Q. Brandt, 6 and 24 is the record for the U.S. in foursomes going back to '23. Why do you think we've had so much trouble in this format?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: It's the million-dollar question, right? I don't know. I know our guys are committed to it. Our guys practice it hard leading up to this. I feel like we had the right matchups, we felt like, and some days the ball just doesn't want to go in. I can't put my finger on it. I really wish I could. I tried my best to do it, and we have another session to go out there and try to figure it out.

I think these guys are ready for that challenge, but to answer your question, I don't really -- it's such a hard question to answer because I can't really point to one specific thing of why it's not happening.

Q. Was there anything you tried to do this week to try to change that trend?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: We tried to practice it. We tried to put guys in scenarios so they get used to it and comfortable with it. One of these days we're going to figure it out. One of these days these guys are going to turn it around.

Q. Brandt, I don't believe anyone on this team has faced a deficit this large in the Presidents Cup. How do you guard against them pressing too much tomorrow?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: That's something we're going to have to balance out tonight for sure. Definitely, we're going to have to address that, realize this is still a long golf tournament ahead of us. We're not going to be able to get it back in one session. We're not going to be able to get it back in one match. It's going to be a slow, steady process to try to turn this thing around.

Geoff and the International Team are going to do everything they can to try to make sure that doesn't happen. We've got to simplify this thing down to nuts and bolts: Hey, we've got to go out and figure out how to win one hole at a time, one match at a time and try to turn the tide on this. I'm fully confident in the guys we have in that room, how competitive they are, and what they believe in, that we're going to be fine. But we can't force it all in one session. From where we are right now, we need to do it session by session, point by point.

Q. Brandt, I guess after the last few Ryder Cups and then the start to this Presidents Cup, what would you say to some American fans who are really passionate and just frustrated with how things are going so far?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah, these guys care so much. These guys love being on these teams. They love playing for their country. They love playing for each other. I love teams like that. I think the American people should be damn proud of those 12 guys.

Q. Is there an effort tonight to maybe fire the guys up? I know there's a lot of golf to play, but at some point there won't be. Some of them might speak up in the locker room and get these guys going either tonight or tomorrow morning?

BRANDT SNEDEKER: I think that's something in the team room. That stays in the team room. These guys are competitive. I'm going to keep saying this until I'm blue in the face: These guys are competitive. They don't like losing anything. They certainly don't like where we are right now.

But we're one-third of the way through this. There's a helluva lot of golf in front of us, and I'm telling you, these guys are going to come out firing tomorrow.
