Q. What a great match you played today, the birdies early. Nick, it has been a long week for you, not just this week, but maybe for several years to be in this moment. How much did it live up to expectations today?

NICK TAYLOR: It was awesome. I got to get some of the feels yesterday watching, and to get the captains to have faith in me to play today -- Corey played awesome. It's fun hitting his approach shots after the way he drives it. We just played really solid and hung in there until the end.

Q. Corey, you're undefeated in foursomes with the fellow Canadian, but the comfort level. This is probably the one where comfort level matters the most, this format. What did you guys bring to each other to get this done today?

COREY CONNERS: It's pretty incredible to play on this stage with one of your best friends on the PGA Tour and fellow Canadian. I've got a lot of trust in Nick's game, and I know he steps up when it matters most, and he certainly did that today. So it was a blast to share the experience with him.

Q. Speaking of stepping up, that last show, bailing out your partner there with one of the best swings of the day there, that third here at 18.

NICK TAYLOR: I would say maybe I bailed myself out after that drive. Yeah, when it mattered most, it was nice to hit a close one in there and apply the pressure back to them.

Q. Nick, you've hit a lot of clutch shots in your life. I can of one that maybe was bigger than the last one you hit, but tell us about closing out this match on that final hole.

NICK TAYLOR: You know, I hit a poor drive, and the motivation there was to give myself and Corey a chance at 4 to put a little pressure back on them. It was a good number with a 9-iron, and it came out perfectly.

It was more so redemption for that tee shot, but happy to walk away with a 4, and fortunate there that Sam's lipped out.

Q. What was the plan going in for the two of you? Did you talk about what you were going to do?

COREY CONNERS: I think we did a good job. We've just got to play our games. I've got a lot of faith in Nick's game. I know he's going to step up when it matters. I feel like we had a game plan and stuck to it, hit good shots when it mattered. Nick was able to make some nice putts towards the end and a great approach there to save par on the 18th.

Q. It's a big win, but is it a bigger win because of who you beat?

COREY CONNERS: Any point on the board is huge in this event. It was just awesome to get to put the point on the board with Nick today. We certainly beat some pretty good opponents. A little bit unfortunate there with the putt lipping out there for them on 18, but we battled hard, and it was a lot of fun.

Q. Nick, this is your debut. How did it feel to get out there?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it was awesome to have a debut with Corey, somebody that I trust fully, and I felt like we stuck to the game plan. Corey made some great putts early, and we just applied pressure. We only made one bogey. In this format, it's really good golf. And to get a point in my first match feels great.

Q. The Canadian duo goes the distance to win 1-up. You put them behind the eight ball with the tee shot on 18. You've had some huge moments in your career, Nick; to deliver in that situation, how meaningful was that?

NICK TAYLOR: It means a lot. It was not where I wanted to put him off the tee. We were still in the hole. We've just got to put it back in play and give ourselves a chance. Corey made some great putts early on to give us the slim lead. I felt like we were applying pressure not making mistakes, and to cap it off with that one to save myself really from that tee shot, it felt awesome.

Q. Corey, one of the bigger mismatches on paper. Their total world rank, 9. You guys, 104th. What did it take to stare down the World No. 1 and get that point for yourself?

COREY CONNERS: I've got a lot of faith in Nick's game and a lot of faith in my game to stack up in this format against anybody. We just tried to play our games. We certainly needed to bring our best stuff to be able to get a point on the board today.

It was a lot of fun, and I'm happy to come out on the right end.

Q. Nick, talk about how the board was split on Day 2 towards the International side.

NICK TAYLOR: Obviously we had a really tough match, uphill battle, and to show the guys early on that we were in there with a 1-up lead and we weren't going to back down, kind of set the tone, I think, was really important. If we can finish off these matches, it would be an awesome day.
