Q. You two took on two of the top-8 players in the world, including the No. 1 player, Scottie Scheffler. You grabbed the lead on 12 and hung on. What was the difference today for you guys?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, we just tried to be relentless out there. Both hit a lot of quality shots, and Nick made some key putts there towards the end to keep us in the position, highlighted by his approach shot into the last here. It was unbelievable.

Q. Nick, walk us through that third shot here on 18 that ultimately was able to get you guys to victory.

NICK TAYLOR: Obviously hit a terrible drive there, and talking with Corey just get me back in play and let's give ourselves a shot at 4. Kind of had a perfect number to hit it to kick-in range and put the pressure back on them was huge.

Fortunately, they lipped out. Sam had a great putt, but we'll take the point.

Q. To do this in your very first match, and you've been wanting to wear that shield for a long time, how impactful is it for you?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it's amazing. I've had all the faith in the captains and the players. It's very meaningful that they put their trust in me, and to be able to pull off shots when I need to is awesome.
