Q. All right, here with Sofia Garcia after her first round here at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G.
Got off to a really great start; 67 for you. Take us through the round, especially the eagle on 18.
SOFIA GARCIA: I think I was having a solid round. I made a really long putt on the first one and then had some good shots. Missed couple opportunities with the putter, so it kind of felt like the round was slowing down a little bit.
And then obviously on 18 I had a decent shot out of the crease. Put myself in position for a nice approach shot and then end up making. I think that kind of switch a little bit the momentum.
I felt like I had a few opportunities coming on the first nine which was my back. I was able to take advantage of when I had the opportunity.
And then I had a couple missed shots and my chipping was really good. Overall it was a solid round.
Q. Yeah. Only one bogey on the card. Obviously very important to stay bogey-free on this course. What is the key to keeping yourself out of those bogey situations?
SOFIA GARCIA: I think for me, I had a couple really bad shots today. I don't think I was missing it on the wrong side. I kind of have a little bit of knowledge around with this course four years in, and I was able to put myself in places that I could save it from.
On nine I made a long put for par so that helped. I think my chipping was good enough that when I was in bad positions I was able to make up and down.
Q. Fourth start at this event. Your third round in the 60s to start at this event. What is it about this course that allows you to get off to a hot start?
SOFIA GARCIA: I think my strength has been tee-to-green, especially my second shots. So it's a golf course that is in great conditions. We had a few opportunities to hunt some pins, the weather is perfect, so that kind of makes you have to go low.
So definitely the shape of the golf course allows if you have good shots you are rewarded.
Q. How do you carry this momentum into the weekend knowing it's only a three-day event?
SOFIA GARCIA: I think obviously it's a shorter version for us. It's way to say it because golf is still long. Keeping in the presents and making sure I'm focusing on the shot I'm hitting.
Obviously good things coming out from today. Work on a couple things moving on tomorrow. Make sure I'm giving myself opportunities because obviously there is opportunities for birdies.
But making sure I'm patient with the holes I either don't have the shot I would like or the hole is a little bit long.
