Q. Okay, here with Caley McGinty after her first round at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. Really solid round to kick off the week. Six birdies on the card. What were you doing to put yourself in those birdie situations?

CALEY MCGINTY: I hit it pretty good today. It's been a bit of a rough year for me so far so I kind of just went out with no expectations.

It's also my birthday today, so it's like I'm just going to have fun. I didn't hit it amazing but I kept it in play. I got a new putter in the bag yesterday and that was really helpful today. Yeah, rolled in some good putts.

Q. This tournament is notorious for lots of birdies and low scores. How do you keep up that momentum from this round?

CALEY MCGINTY: I don't really know. Tomorrow is a new day. I thought there were some tough pins outs there today, especially on the first couple holes. I think it just depends where the pins are at and what numbers I have in. Yeah, just going to take it as a new day.

Q. You mentioned not the best year for you so far, but to see a great start like this to a three-day week, what's that do for your momentum and confidence?

CALEY MCGINTY: Yeah, I'm kind of at point, not to sound negative, but I'm highly likely going back to Q-School. I've just kind of accepted that. That's okay.

But it was just really nice to see some solid golf. I started working with a new coach two months ago came and here and he helped me out yesterday a lot. Yeah, it's just nice to see progress, so I'm really excited about that.

Q. As you mentioned, birthday today. Any plans to celebrate?

CALEY MCGINTY: I don't know. I've had the best day ever so far. Taylor Swift released new songs today as well. It's been a great day. Probably going to be shopping. I don't know. Don't know.
