Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Frida Kinhult after her first round here at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. Really solid 6-under from you today. Take us through the round. What's the keys to going bogey-free on this course?

FRIDA KINHULT: I don't know. I was pretty steady off the tee today which would help at any course really.

I think, yeah, very straight off the tee. Found fairways. It's pretty short out there. There are a few really long irons, but in general I would say it's a lot of short irons and wedges.

So try to take advantage of those, and couple putts dropped at the end, so that was just a bonus and super fun.

Q. Had a great day off the tee. Hit all 13 fairways. Is that something you've been working on or been striping it pretty well?

FRIDA KINHULT: Yeah, my driver has been a little bit up and down the last two, three years honestly. Me and my coaches started to try to put more play practice in when I'm home. So just trying to play a little bit more at home, and I think that helps to just visualize and see the fairways in a different way and shot shaping.

It's easy to stand and practice on the range, but every driving range would be pretty wide, so I would say being out on the course lately has helped a lot to just build confidence and stuff off the tee.

So, yeah, it was fun to see it work good today.

Q. How good does a round like this feel?

FRIDA KINHULT: It feels good. I've had a pretty tough stretch lately, so it was great to see some putts drop and see some birdies. Yeah, hopefully we'll keep moving in the right direction this weekend.

Q. How do you keep the momentum up?

FRIDA KINHULT: I don't know. Just try to have fun. I got to -- staying with some good people this week. Try to be pretty relaxed outside of golf. Maybe get a workout in to switch the brain off a little bit and talk to my family and stuff like that.

Yeah, just try and have some fun outside the course and stay in the present when I'm out there.

Q. We've heard it all week, it's a bit of a birdiefest every time we come to this course. How do you manage being in contention with also not trying to be overly aggressive factored in with it's only a three-day event?

FRIDA KINHULT: I know. It's different because I think this is my fifth time here and you know going in the cut is going to be low and the winning score is going to be low. Like you have to get your mind into like you say, birdie mode and aggressive. I think in general I'm a pretty aggressive player, so maybe it fits my game a little bit better.

Again, try and stay patient, take it hole by hole. Sounds cliche, but shot by shot, and just, yeah, make some birdies.

Q. If it works, it works.

FRIDA KINHULT: Yeah.
