Q. With the twosome that has become quite the formidable partnership for the International side, nice playing today. Tom, what a note to end that match. How critical was it getting that?

TOM KIM: Definitely. We don't want to leave the door open. You really have to keep your foot down. I think that was kind of the mindset when we got a really good point with a par on I think 13 or 14, and then him making a bomb to go 3-up.

That's just -- we did a lot of good things late in the round to really give us a cushion. We never really let our guard down. We just kind of kept the foot on the gas. I would say relieved just to be able to finish without any stress.

Q. Almost finishing with a hole-in-one, that was the highlight of the day. Si Woo, you guys are 3-1 together. Why are you such a good partnership?

SI WOO KIM: I think even for his first Presidents Cup, it's exciting playing together. We know very well each other. Sometimes he helps me a lot, gives me a lot of confidence, and I think I give him a lot of confidence.

I think that's why we've been like high pressure ones.

Q. How would you describe how you feed off each other?

TOM KIM: We just do a really good job of when we lose momentum, I think we do a really good job of knowing how to pick it up. I think in moments where if I'm in trouble, he definitely has my back, and when he's in trouble, I've definitely got his back.

There was a couple holes today when he was out of it that I feel like I stepped out and won the hole by myself, and when I was out, he was there and he stepped up and won the hole himself.

I think we just do a really good job of knowing when to protect the other person, and our games are very similar. I think we've played a lot of practice rounds together. I've said this earlier, but we've played in a lot of high-pressure stakes together. We've won a couple times, and we've lost a couple times.

I think just having that experience together definitely feeds off really well, and I think it's just more of a comfort thing where we know if I'm in that position, I know my partner has got my back.

Q. Si Woo, you guys are just trailing 3-2 as a team. How do you view the first day?

SI WOO KIM: I think it's definitely better than last time. It was a brutal start last time. I think we did really well. We're excited for tomorrow, and we're excited for the rest of the tournament.
