THE MODERATOR: Jana, not a bad debut for you, despite the loss. Can you explain to us how you were able to make your debut here.

JANA OTZIPKA: Yeah, was very special to me. I'm very happy that I could play, that I got the chance to play. I was happy with my match and how I performed. Yeah, I'm happy that I got the chance.

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. Jana, the first set, did it go even better than you could possibly have hoped for?

JANA OTZIPKA: Yes, of course. I didn't have the best preparation because I came here Monday very late. But I'm happy with my level, especially the first set.

Q. What changed? What did you notice in Kalinina's game that made it more difficult?

JANA OTZIPKA: She was more aggressive and very consistent. I made a little bit too many mistakes. Yeah, she put a lot of pressure.

Q. You spoke about what an honor it is to make your debut. Where does this rank in your career so far, playing Billie Jean King Cup for Belgium?

JANA OTZIPKA: Yeah, it's very special. I didn't expect to play for the team. I'm very happy that I got the chance. We will see in the future.

Q. My question for you is, you played great in the first set. You even got it to a tiebreak. What was going through your mind? For the last two sets, even though you lost, as a young player, could you share with us what have you learned from this experience?

JANA OTZIPKA: First set I was very happy. I was just thinking about playing each point and stay calm. That's why I won the set.

Second and third set I just stayed calm as well. Yeah, she was just the better player in the two sets.

Q. You won the first set. I was wondering if you have any tactics before the match?

JANA OTZIPKA: Not really. I looked up some statistics of her. I saw that she was serving more, like, wide than T. I was prepared for that. Just then I decided to play my game and see how it goes.
