Q. Your first time playing in the Open de France, not the first time playing the course, which we'll come to in a moment. But what have you heard about this event, and how excited are you ahead of this week?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Obviously I've heard Alex Noren talk about it, so I know a little bit. So, yeah, obviously, seen the golf course a few times before in tournament play, and really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I think it's a golf course that's meant to host big events. You can see it, the way it's built and the way the grandstands, the natural grandstands kind of work.

So, yeah, been looking forward to playing.

Q. Two years ago you represented Sweden in the Olympics. You're here. What are your memories of that week here?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah. Again, Alex Noren was my teammate. We stayed together. We had a good time. Yeah, it was really cool. It was obviously something new and something different for me.

But I do remember sort of walking up 18, how cool that was, seeing all the different flags and the different -- kind of a different feel to it than a normal event, I would say.

First tee was really cool as well, and kind of 1 and 2, kind of the bowl arena almost. And, yeah, I got some really good memories from that week.

Q. Had a few course changes since 2024. What did you make of the changes? 4, 5, 6 look a lot different. And also maybe the homestretch coming home, those four last holes are just brutal.

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: It's a golf course where obviously you have to hit golf shots. You can't scrap it around and expect to get away from it.

And obviously 4, 5, 6, they have the same kind of characteristics, but they look a little bit different. So a strong par-4 up the hill.

And made 5 fairway a little bit wider. I thought it was a great golf hole the way it used to be before and you used kind of a 3-wood-ish, and you had a wedge, but you still had to take shots. And they made it a little bit wider, but it still has the same characteristics.

And then obviously adding some length to 15 makes you pay attention, definitely.

But it's also -- again, it's a golf course where I love courses like this where it's right in front of you and you know what to do, but you just have to execute. And if you do, you get rewarded; and if you don't, you're going to get punished.

Q. You're firmly part of Team Europe now, but this place is synonymous with 2018 and the Ryder Cup. I think you were just 18 years old. Can you remember watching that as a fan?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Oh, yeah, absolutely. Oh, yeah. I remember watching it. I remember 2012 was the first one I watched. 2010, I don't really have any memory of. But 2012 and on, I've definitely got memories from it.

Q. Yeah. And now recent times, had a few days at Adare Manor with the team and Luke. What was that experience like?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: It was great. Adare Manor is sick. It's really cool. It's unbelievable shape, unbelievable place. And I think the Ryder Cup is going to be very, very special there.

And, yeah, it was good to see the golf course. It was good to get together. We had dinners and such and got to spend some time together.

And, yeah, it was really cool. It feels like it's kind of starting again, and it's cool to be a part of those conversations.

Q. I heard it was Sweden v. Norway, you and Alex against Kristoffer and Viktor, a bit of rivalry would you say?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah, maybe that was the pairings made by the captains. But, yeah, it was me and Alex versus Viktor and Kristoffer, and dare to say that we actually won that.

Q. You won in Switzerland, a national open there. And national opens are a huge part of this DP World Tour. For you, how important are they, and to win something like this, such a historic tournament?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah, it's such a historic event. Obviously it's moved around golf courses the last couple years. And I remember seeing Michael win here last year at a different golf course.

And, yeah, you can see how much it means to the people here. You can see how much it means to the staff involved and the golf course and such. And they're cool. They're really cool.

So if I can play here and perform and play to my abilities the way I know I can, we'll see where that takes us.
