Q. On the front nine, two birdies and eagle on the back nine. Sum up that 64 today.

JOHANNES VEERMAN: Yeah, I played like a man possessed. This is definitely my best ball-striking round this year. I could have probably shot a couple shots lower if I had a really hot putter. I didn't make one long putt.

But I just played phenomenal today and I was able to stay in the rhythm. Sometimes it's easy to knock yourself out a little bit and become aware of what you're really doing, but I did my best to stay in my routine, stay in my zone and walked away with 8-under today.

Q. We know what you're capable of. You're a winner on the DP World Tour. What was different, it's been quite a season for you.

JOHANNES VEERMAN: Yeah, I think it's just a testament to how hard golf is, right. There's the technical aspects, and when that gets a little off, it starts messing with your mental, your mind a little bit. So it's a snowballing effect. Everything effects everything.

I just started working with one of my old swing coaches again, and that took an instant effect and just been, again, snowballing the other way, I hope.

Q. I think by the time you were on 15, the wind picked up a lot when the leaders were going out. How much do you think that score is going to stack up at the end of the day?

JOHANNES VEERMAN: I think pretty good. I think it's supposed to also die a little maybe at the end of their back nine back nine, sometime on their back nine, I think. I'm just really happy how I played. Good luck to them. I hope they tear it up. I'm just ecstatic with my score today.

Q. Will you keep an eye on what materialises today?

JOHANNES VEERMAN: Offhandedly, sure. It's not going to be my intention. I'll see it on my phone. People might text me. I'm going to eat lunch, and there are some TVs over there, but that's to the extent I'll be following it.

Q. What would it mean for you to be right there at the end on the back nine competing for this title?

JOHANNES VEERMAN: That would be everything. I mean, that's -- ultimately, that's why we all play, just to have a chance, just to have a sniff heading to the back nine. That's what gets us up and gets us practicing and keeps us coming back. If I'm in that position tomorrow, I think I'll be -- yeah, that's everything.
