Q. Tell us about the round. It was a little bit of everything in there, wasn't it?

ALEX NOREN: It was everything. I don't know, yesterday I hit it pretty good of off the tee and today not as good. And then it's a tricky course. It's very dry outside the greens, and yeah, so I was fighting. And I'm really proud of myself for not giving in and kind of being angry at some shots here and there and just keep grinding it out, and then like you said just to get a decent position for the weekend.

Q. The double bogey on the first which was your 11th hole, that could have really disrupted you, couldn't it, because some seriously tough holes to follow after that.

ALEX NOREN: Yeah, and I got up-and-down on the next hole, which I was really happy about. I just didn't have the whole game. It was a lot of fighting. But I made a mistake on that first hole. I should never have hit that hybrid, that little chippy hybrid off that lie. But you have to stay positive. Think of it was a long marathon.

Q. Tell me about the mindset for the weekend, because you've given yourself a platform, and you've got great memories of this place. Doesn't matter what time of year, but especially in the recent past as defending champion, how much could that help you this week?

ALEX NOREN: I always think it's good heading into the weekend, after the experience of the first two days, actually of what went right and what went wrong so you know what to work on. I know what to work on this afternoon, and I think the wind is going to be the same which helps us kind of get a feel for what shots you need out there.

So I feel more comfortable than I felt on Wednesday, even though I didn't play my best today. Yeah, overall, it's going to be a fun weekend.

Q. And can you tap into the vibes of last year, as well?

ALEX NOREN: Yeah, I mean, I was putting really well today. That was my key last year. Just spend a lot of time on the greens. They are lovely greens here. They are perfect. Just what you see is what you get, and if you read them well, they are going in.
