Q. A weekend match out here on Ashe in front of your home crowd. How much did you enjoy it out there tonight?

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, a lot. It's always a little bit more stressful playing on center court at a Grand Slam versus an outside court, but it kind of can't get better than this. Sunday night, Labor Day weekend, playing on Ashe, night session. It's pretty cool.

Q. How did you approach the match tonight? From the outside you absolutely seemed really locked in, really disciplined.

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, I know Anna can catch fire and get on a run, and I wanted to just try to break her rhythm as much as I could, and maybe she didn't play as consistently as she would like to.

Just proud of my patience and ability to be putting balls in the court and keep asking her the questions.

Q. You're into the quarterfinals here, the furthest you have been at a slam since the AO in 2025. What's clicking for you? How are you feeling confident on the surface?

EMMA NAVARRO: I'm feeling good mentally, like feeling resilient, feeling calm, feeling strong. So I think that's a huge part of the game, and yeah, certainly can't be overlooked. When I'm feeling good mentally, I think good things happen for me.

Q. It's going to be Jess Pegula in the quarterfinals. An all-American battle. Can expect to be probably out here again on Arthur Ashe with huge American support. How much about that match be about getting that home support on your side?

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, I should have talked to the crowd a little tonight, asking them to come back and cheer me on for that match. Definitely going to need them.

Jess is really tough. I have lost to her a few times now, but there's always that time when you get over the hump and get the win, so hopefully that will be in a couple of days.

Q. Finally, what specific dangers does Jess pose as an opponent? She's been in great form so far here this tournament. What will you need to look out for from her game?

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, Jess probably hits the flattest ball on tour, keeps it low, can hit is short and flat or deep and it looks the same.

Yeah, just a really great ball striker and super consistent from the baseline I think I'll have to match that and try to get her out of her rhythm a little bit.
