THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. Emma, sorry about the loss tonight, but just comprehensively looking at your season, can you reflect upon maybe how proud you are of reaching the quarterfinal with how the season began, and if you felt like you could have reached the quarterfinal here in New York?

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, I think when I put things into perspective, which is hard to do not that long after coming off the court -- yeah, if you had told me at the beginning of this year that I would be making a quarterfinal run in a Grand Slam, I'd be pretty happy with that.

So I think it will take me a couple of days to truly appreciate that, but yeah, it's disappointing to lose, especially when I felt like I was in a good enough position to win and couldn't get it done.

But, yeah, super proud of the run I've had these last couple of weeks or so. Makes me excited for the future as well.

Q. More match-specific, there was a total of 27 deuces and 24 breakpoint opportunities. I'm curious, why do you think that was in terms of the rhythm of the points and how they were going?

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, it was super back and forth. I think there was a minute there where I felt like I kind of had her number. Then probably she felt the same about me for a little while and probably at the right times.

Yeah, I think it was super back and forth. I don't know, one of us would get a little bit of momentum, and then the other would step up and play a good point.

Yeah, I think Jess plays very tactical. I kind of tried to match that a little bit and be, yeah, just as smart tactically as I could today. Yeah, I don't know. Just a lot of back and forth.

Q. Just going off of that, the third set it seemed like it came down -- obviously I know you each had a break early on, and then it came down to that break at the end. She held the rest of the way. When the third set was kind of going down, did you feel like you got tense in any way, or what maybe led to that break?

EMMA NAVARRO: Yeah, I think I didn't serve as well in the third set, which makes a big difference. Couldn't really tell you why. Just happens sometimes.
