Quick Quotes

Q. Nelly, just assess the match. It was a great fight-back.

NELLY KORDA: Just played really well. I think they were, like, 6- or 5-under through eight holes. So it's tough. Yeah, I mean, alternate shot's hard enough, but when you're playing against a group of girls that are playing really, really well, it's even harder.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Exactly what Nelly said. I felt like we played pretty much the same as yesterday. Maybe one or two shots, I think, that we both wish we could get back. But overall, really solid. We got a few putts to drop towards the end. But, yeah, they just played really well.

Q. I know not the result you wanted, but what did you guys tell each other when you made the turn?

NELLY KORDA: Just trying to be, like, okay, we still have nine more holes. Like, let's get it on the back and just tried to stay positive and just focus on ourselves, not really what was going on on the outside.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: I just think every match when you're down you just want it to last as long as possible. So to be able to get 10 and 11 back I felt that was huge for us. Unfortunately, yeah, couldn't quite get it all the way there, but still really proud of how we fought.

Q. How do the Americans make it a good session this afternoon?

NELLY KORDA: By showing up and winning some holes and making sure that there's red on that leaderboard.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, just keeping it quiet.
