TV Interview
Q. Congratulations on getting the win. How important was it to bounce back this afternoon rows?
ROSE ZHANG: I think it was extremely crucial for our team. Auston and I ham-and-egged it really well, and toward the end of the stretch it got a little bit difficult, but we fought hard and it's from the heart that we were able to get it done.
Q. It went a little bit longer than you would have liked, but still the 16th green that you get the point. How did you turn things around in your game, Auston, for this afternoon?
AUSTON KIM: Yeah, all the captains were saying to have a short memory, be a goldfish, and that's such good advice. I feel like Rose and I did a really, really good job, and we had a little extra motivation after losing a couple of times, but it's nice to finally get a win. And again, Rose, and I ham-and-egged it really well today, so I'm proud of the both of us.
Q. There's been a lot of talk about the noise and about the fans obviously cheering for Europe here on home soil. What is it like going up against a crowd like this?
ROSE ZHANG: It wasn't easy. I mean, sometimes you just have to block it out, and if you can't block it out, you have to accept it. So I think you have to expect when you're out here to get cheers from the opposition and have silence when you do well.
Q. Leona Maguire is a player that the crowd really gets behind. Is there a little bit of extra satisfaction getting a win against Maguire?
AUSTON KIM: Yeah, for sure. I learned a lot from her today, and I have a lot of respect for her as a player and as a peer. She definitely is really good at match play, so it was really awesome to learn from her today. Again, yeah, it's a lot of satisfaction to get our first point against her, and she and Nas played really well today.
