Quick Quotes
Q. Condolences guys. You fought really hard, but how frustrating was it in the end?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it was pretty frustrating. I thought I -- well, to be fair, didn't we?
LOTTIE WOAD: Just didn't make any putts.
CHARLEY HULL: Just couldn't buy a putt.
Q. You had that amazing putt on 17 and you were right in there in the end with a chance. Is there anything you can take from this match? Did you enjoy playing together? You played four matches together.
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, the one on 17 was kind of the first one of length, I guess, like, 12 feet, that I holed all day. So we were just trying to keep on hitting good putts, that's what we were telling ourselves, and just trying to get it down 18 and give ourself a chance because even a half point is really important. So that was what we were trying to do.
Q. Charley, with the way that you guys played these four sessions, do you feel like you deserve more than a half point?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, definitely. I feel like we actually played pretty solid, to be fair, haven't we?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah. Yesterday in the four-ball, we were, like, 10-, 11-under, and obviously it was a great match back and forth on that. And then I don't think anyone would have beaten who we played this morning. They were 7-under through 14. So credit to them. Everyone's played amazing when we've played them. So, yeah, it's just match play, isn't it? You can play bad and win and play well and lose.
Q. Did you expect to play with each other in every match or did you think she might switch it up?
LOTTIE WOAD: That was plan A, so yeah.
CHARLEY HULL: I felt we actually did play pretty solid. Like, we can't really fault each of our games, to be fair.
LOTTIE WOAD: I think today we didn't hole many putts in the morning and all afternoon, and that's the difference, really. People we played were holing 15-footers and we weren't.
Q. Did you know going in that you were going to play all five?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah.
Q. So given the position that you guys are in, considering that you two didn't win more points, how pleased are you going into Sunday with the team overall?
LOTTIE WOAD: Doesn't matter who wins the points. I would happily lose my matches if we win. So, yeah we're in a good position.
