Q. You backed up the course record with a 5-under 65 today. How good was that?

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I did. Anytime you play a links golf in 15, 20-mile-an-hour winds and it got a little cold at the end there, it's going to be hard and you're going to have some testers for pars. I felt like I did a great job today of just staying in the moment and playing my own game. Yeah, I had, you know, so much fun out there on the back nine. The crowds were incredible. They cheered me on the whole way home and hopefully will do the same tomorrow.

Q. Talk to me about that back nine.

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I knew that as well on the 18th. I was walking down 18 and it popped into my head. It's amazing what you think of. It was nice. I was in out of position a few times, but I knew if I could put myself back in position that I was rolling the ball well. So let's hope that stays the way through tomorrow.

Q. You and Jacob had a great contest, on the front nine, especially.

SHANE LOWRY: He played great today. If he plays the same tomorrow, I'm going to have to play better to beat him. He's a great young player. He was impressive out there. So I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Final group, leading my home tournament, it's a nice place to be and, yeah, it should be fun.

Q. This is the fairytale that everybody wanted out there. You lifted the trophy 17 years ago, how much would it mean to win it again?

SHANE LOWRY: It would mean a lot. But for this evening I'm going to try to not think about it. I'm going to talk to people around me, have a nice evening, hopefully get some sleep and get out there tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully the crowd gets on my side and I can put on a good show for them again and shoot a good score and do what I'm supposed to do.

Q. Lastly, what will you do tonight?

SHANE LOWRY: Go home for dinner.

Q. 65 today, I imagine very happy with your day's work?

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I am, yeah. You know, it was, going out there with the lead, I knew, the conditions weren't that easy, so people were going to have to play really well to shoot a good score. I thought if I could shoot a good sore I could sort of pull myself away a little bit. And I felt like I did a really good job on the back nine today. I feel like I stayed in the fight the whole day and I did some, yeah, I did some great work on the back nine. Pretty proud of myself for that.

Q. Extraordinary back nine, nine single putts.

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, look, I'm normally the one watching other people do it, so why not me sometimes. So it's nice. It's nice to you know I'm seeing my lines well and starting the ball where I want and they're going in and hopefully that stays that way for another 24 hours.

Q. I don't know if you remember how you were feeling after round 3 when you won this tournament. How are you feeling right now? What's the head like?

SHANE LOWRY: I'm feeling good. I felt great out there. I really did feel good out there. I felt like I was just staying in shot by shot and doing my thing. Yeah, look, it's obviously going to be, it's a big day for me tomorrow. I'm going to be leading my home tournament and it would mean the world to knock this one off. So I'm just going to have to put my head down, get back to work whenever my tee time is tomorrow, and give it a run.
