TV Interview

Q. This wasn't the way that you wanted it to go. What do you put it down to that it didn't quite happen?

ANDREA LEE: Well, first of all, just really proud of the way that we hung in there. We played some pretty solid golf on the back nine, and we took 'em all the way to 18 after being 2-down. So just really proud of that. I think it was just a matter of just a couple of shots here and there didn't go our way, the bounces. But I think we played great. It's Lindy's first time out here and she did awesome, but we both played well.

Q. You know what it's like now, Lindy, to play for your country in a Solheim. Describe what it was like today right from the get-go.

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, it was totally surreal. Unlike anything I've experienced with all the people and the fans chanting. It was so cool to play alongside Andrea and Gilly and Greg. We had a great time and, yeah, the bounces just didn't quite go our way today.

Q. You've been a player that's had highs and lows in your career. You've documented it. What does it mean to you to get to this point where you're playing on the biggest stage in?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, it's really exciting. I've worked really hard on the game and trying to get better along the way and still continuing to try to do that. So to be here is pretty amazing.

Q. Andrea, you're an experienced player. Taking it to the 18th, as you mentioned, what do you take from that? What do you learn from that and what does it say about you as a player and as a pairing?

ANDREA LEE: Yeah, it just showed that we were really gritty. We never gave up. We never let our heads hang until the very last hole. That was the goal. We were saying on maybe 15 and 16, Let's just take 'em to 18 and give 'em a battle. So that's what we did, and we're really proud of that.

Q. This is the first time that we've really seen this golf course, certainly in women's golf. What did it tell you about the way it played in competition today that you maybe didn't see when you were practicing?

LINDY DUNCAN: I think we had a couple of days of practice where the weather was really good. It wasn't windy at all and we had one really rainy, windy day. So I think that was good prep coming into today. But the golf course itself, it's a great match play course, it's super fun. There's a lot of strategy off the tee. Yeah, it's tough, there's a couple of tough holes on the back nine, along with the wind and the rain, but, yeah, just proud of the way we hung in there.
