TV Interview

Q. Congratulations to both of you. You were in control of this match for the whole way, but you just wanted to give the fans their money's worth, right? Take it to the 18th. How would you sort of sum up the way this match went, Esther?

ESTHER HENSELEIT: I think we played really, really well in the beginning, made a lot of birdies. And then the back nine's just really tricky and it played pretty long today with the wind and the rain. So I feel like the last, I don't know, six, seven holes were just a grind. But, yeah, we made putts, we made up-and-downs, and in the end got the point, so very happy.

Q. When you look at European players who've played a minimum five matches, the point here for you, Leona, makes you, for European player, with the highest winning percentage of anyone who has ever played in the Solheim Cup. What is it about the Solheim Cup that inspires you and makes you play the way you do?

LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, I think I've been just very fortunate to have great partners as well a lot of those points have come from foursomes matches and four-ball matches. So we had incredible support out here. There was a lot of Irish flags and German flags, and they were really spurring us on, especially when that weather got bad and miserable, it was that extra little bit we needed to grind it out.

Q. All the way back on the first tee they were singing your name. How much do you hear that and how much does that get you going?

LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, the crowds were amazing this morning. A few new chants and a few new songs that we haven't heard before, so that was keeping us laughing and entertained out there. So hopefully more of the same this afternoon and the crowds will be even bigger and louder.

Q. Let's talk about this afternoon. I mean, what are your thoughts on four-ball play and how much would you like to play together as this Solheim Cup continues?

ESTHER HENSELEIT: I mean, look, everyone wants to play every match, but we have a great team and we have some great new players as well, and I think we have such a cool situation that everyone on this team wants to win points and has the game to do it. So I feel like, yeah, whatever happens we're going to be pretty happy and we're happy that we contributed already and, yeah.
