Team Europe
TV Interview
Q. Anna, you played in nine of these, you've been a playing vice captain, but now you are the boss of the European team. What was this like leading out your team onto the first tee?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I mean, it's an honor of a lifetime, and it doesn't get better than this. I mean, the crowds are amazing. I don't think I've ever seen this many Europeans on the first tee. As a player you really have to be in the zone, but I guess this is the first time in all these nine years I can really relax and just soak it all in.
Q. That first pairing, when you look at the stats, it's your strongest pairing with Hull and Woad. How much of that decision was data or instinct to put them out first together?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, I think it was a pretty easy one. Friday morning they were always going out first and they just couldn't wait to get to the tee.
Q. What was the message you gave to your players? I saw you talking to the caddies there on the first tee, what's the message, the last message that you give them?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, I mean, I feel like we done all the work this week. Like, there's nothing really I need to say. We had a nice message from all the families last night. I feel the vibe's been really good all week. I just tried to be there for them. Like, I've been in their position, so I know what it's like. They're living the dream and as a golfer it doesn't get better than this.
