Trump International Golf Links & Hotel

Quick Quotes

Q. 66 today, yesterday 69. Maybe first talk about the comparison between today and yesterday.

EWEN FERGUSON: Yeah, I think today was, like, four hours. Yesterday, it was over six hours, which is a long time to be on the course. I made a few mistakes coming in yesterday just with kind of being knackered and wanting it done, to be honest, and also, like, a lapse of concentration.

But yeah, golf shouldn't take that long, really. Today just felt -- like, I couldn't believe when I was on the 17th, I thought this is great, and the sun came out and I just felt like it was kind of a nice afternoon at that point. So yeah, just played nice and the first two days are over and look forward to the weekend now.

Q. Difficult golf course for everyone, but you must be used to links golf. Are you quite comfortable out there?

EWEN FERGUSON: It's funny actually because the tournament was it at the Trump International course two or three weeks ago and it's not too dissimilar actually. It looks really intimidating off the tee, but then it is, but there's a bit more room either side, when you get farther down there it's wider down there, so it plays quite similar to that. Around the greens you can have putt over the swales, and your wedge play has got to be really good numbers and you got to be pin high a lot. That's usually one of my strengths, so, yeah, hopefully can look forward to that over the weekend as well and run some putts in.

Q. Good results on the DP World Tour. How close to you do you think you are to being in contention?

EWEN FERGUSON: Yeah, I think I've been lingering and having a chance to get in contention a couple of times. But, you know, a bad shot here or there kind of takes you to the other side of it. But very close. I feel like I'm playing well and just hopefully like you hit that good shot at the right time and make that putt at the right moment. The margins are small out there, and then all of a sudden it just changes and you're right in the mix. So hopefully I'll play like that over the weekend. A bit more wind would be nice. Being from Scotland, kind of prefer that a little bit more than maybe someone else might.

Q. We'll get some wind tomorrow. You'll get your wish.

EWEN FERGUSON: Yeah, great.
