Q. A bit of a test out there today, but you handed it pretty well. What do you make of your performance out there?

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, it was pretty good. Look, you knew going out that you needed to make some birdies early on on those par-5s that were downwind. I felt like I did that. Then when I turned around, I felt like I did a solid job of making pars and trying to get to the clubhouse as quick as I could. I honestly didn't think we were going to get finished. That's probably the longest round of golf I ever played, in a three ball anyway. I'm happy with my score.

Q. You said early in the week that you feel like you're the best version of yourself at the minute. What do you put that down to?

SHANE LOWRY: Just a lot of, a bit of maturity, a lot of work. I don't think I've ever done as much to try and improve myself. I feel like I'm doing a lot of things right on and off the course. I'm very hopeful that that pays me off at some stage.

Q. You also said you haven't felt over golfed coming into this week compared to the last couple of seasons. How much of a difference did that play out there?

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, look, it's nice. I had a few weeks off there at home and I went home and I did some nice work. My trainer and my coach were over for a couple of weeks in Florida, and it was nice to get a bit of routine back. I played a lot of golf this year, probably over golfed myself in the middle of the season. But, yeah, I'm here now at the Irish Open and I feel great and hopefully I can keep going.
