U.S. SENIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

September 2, 2026

Todd White

Lutherville, Maryland, USA

Baltimore Country Club (East Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. Todd, congratulations on winning two matches today. You find yourself back in the finals again. Do you want to just kind of talk about what you were feeling today?

TODD WHITE: In the morning match, you know, felt good, and then finishing it off on 18 the way I did gave me a good feeling going in.

And then really truly, the rain delay was something that I did not welcome. I wanted to go right back out. I felt a little lethargic in the afternoon and I think it showed in some of my play.

Got to give Tim credit. He hung in there when he was 3-down. He fought it back. It's just a thrill to be in the finals again.

Q. And playing against another fellow USGA champion this afternoon, did you guys talk at all during the round or did you reflect on any past memories you may have?

TODD WHITE: We did a little bit, yeah. It was a friendly match. Tim is a great guy. I've never played golf with him before. You know, it was a friendly competitive match in the amateur spirit. That's the way it should be.

Q. And you played Baltimore Country Club a number of times now this week. Does it continue to surprise you or what are your thoughts on the course?

TODD WHITE: I was a little surprised in the afternoon match today at how just a little bit of rain affected the greens, especially the speed on the uphill putts.

I found myself not quite trusting how hard I had to hit it up the slopes given all week how quick the greens have been.

Q. Going into tomorrow, you just found out tee times are a little earlier now. How will you reset between now and then?

TODD WHITE: Well, let's see, I got to go back and get some food. I've got to put some assignments online for my students tomorrow. I've got to get in touch with my upper school principal, head of school to let them know I'll be playing in the championship match tomorrow.

So I've got a little bit of work to do before I lay down tonight.

Q. And we don't know who you're facing yet, but it could be someone that you're very familiar with. Do you have any thoughts on either of the competitors?

TODD WHITE: Well, Mike beat me last year in the first round. Yeah, beat me 2&1. Mike is a great player. 1991 Walker Cupper. Ade it to the semifinals last year, so he's no stranger to this.

And whether it's he or Corby it's going to be a great match. If it happens to be an all-Spartanburg final, that obviously puts some eyes on our tiny little town.

It may be tiny, but it's got some good golf and great people.

Q. Finally, now that you're in the finals you are playing at Oak Tree National next year as well and also exempt into the Mid-Am in a couple weeks. What are your thoughts on those opportunities?

TODD WHITE: Unbelievable opportunities. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's also the U.S. Am next year.

Q. Yes, sir.

TODD WHITE: So Oak Hill, yeah, this game continues to amaze me in the ways that it blesses and enriches my life and provides opportunities.

Now I'm hoping to use the connections made through these tournaments to try to align some golf matches and golf tournaments for my high school teams. So hope it comes full circle for them.
