THE PRESIDENTS CUP

Nick Taylor

Medinah, Illinois, United States

Medinah Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. As I mentioned, he's part of the International Team for the first time. Nick Taylor joins us now live. Nick, congratulations. You're already wearing the colors as well. I know you wanted to be on the team in Montreal. You were disappointed you didn't make it. What does it mean to you to be on this team now?

NICK TAYLOR: It means the world. It's something that's a huge goal of ours when the Presidents Cup is on that second year in the rotation. It's a team that I've had lots of friends be a part of, and there's nothing but amazing experiences they have.

I'm happy and proud to be on the team and bring everything I can to bring the Cup back to our side of the soil.

Q. Geoff, what kind of energy are you expecting from Nick Taylor?

GEOFF OGILVY: Look, we're excited. Like you mentioned, he was really close in Montreal, which was sad for him in Canada, but we're pumped that he's with us here in Chicago this year.

Look, big-time player. He holed some big putts in some big moments, and that's what you need to do in tournaments like this.

So, yeah, we're excited he's coming with us.

Q. Nick, you're playing alongside, as you mentioned, a lot of friends, one of them being Corey Conners, who's been a longtime friend and fellow Canadian. What does it mean to be on the same squad as him?

NICK TAYLOR: It means the world. We represent Canada in the Olympics at Paris. We travel a lot together and our families are very close.

He's someone I'll be able to lean onto. As throughout the year has gone on, a lot of players on this team, we've gotten together, gotten to know each other, and I think our camaraderie is going to be next level, and I think that's we are going to lean on and push each other to play as well as we possibly can.

Q. Geoff, you have a lot of players from different countries, and it might be natural for you to put guys together, pair them up, who are from the same country. Is that the case or you mix them up a bit?

GEOFF OGILVY: You're going to have to wait a few weeks and look it up. We look at a lot of different aspects for pairings, but that's one of the aspects we might be looking at.

Q. Nick, what are you expecting in the team room since this is your first Presidents Cup? Give me the atmosphere you're expecting there?

NICK TAYLOR: I think we're going to follow Captain Geoff's lead, which is pretty laid back. I think it's going to be a lot of fun, a lot of great energy. Our purpose is to have our energy built up as one that will be powerful when we get out on the golf course.

I'm really excited obviously to play and try to earn as many points as possible, but for us to kind of get together, and we have so many countries around the world. To represent as one is going to be really special.

Q. Nick, congratulations on making the team, your very first appearance at the Presidents Cup.
