Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Rose Zhang after her final round here at the FM Championship. Great finish for you. Looks like a Top 5 finish. How good does this one feel?
ROSE ZHANG: This feels incredible. I feel like it's been a long time coming. I've been working a lot on my game with my team, and just personally I think it's a great confidence booster, especially heading into Solheim.
And, yeah, I'm just excited to keep working and keep improving, but I know that the game is there, which is nice to know.
Q. You're a couple months removed from finishing up your degree. Are you starting to feel like you're getting back into the swing of full time life on Tour?
ROSE ZHANG: 100 percent. I feel like it was very difficult in the beginning especially to just get myself going and feeling like I'm comfortable out here.
Even though I can say this is my fourth season, very much I feel like I'm still learning what it's like to be consistently playing and consistently practicing along with the travel schedule.
So, it's nice to at least like get some reps and especially removed from that last chapter of my life oops.
Q. You mentioned to us as you were walking up had a mini US Open match with Nastasia, rookie on the European team. How much did that fire you up for a couple weeks here in the Netherlands?
ROSE ZHANG: It was really cool. I feel like both of us kind of felt it a little bit because we knew that in two weeks' time we're going to be opposing teams.
Obviously the course will be different and we're not actually playing a team match. That would obviously be a little bit of a different type of energy and game plan.
But I will say that it was on the forefront of our minds and we are preparing for Solheim.
Q. Something similar to that, but likely to finish as one of or the top American today. What does that do for your confidence heading into the Solheim Cup especially?
ROSE ZHANG: It's just nice to know that I can play under pressure. I feel like it's been a while since I gave myself an opportunity to be in the last couple groups, and so to have people watching and to be playing well, especially on top of that, I think it all brings really good energy, especially into the next two weeks.
Q. Yeah, what do you think was the best aspect of your game today? What allowed you to have the round that you did?
ROSE ZHANG: I think I was very steady with the putter, especially on short putts. Usually my short game isn't the most ideal when it comes to getting out of trouble, but I feel like I made up and downs everywhere. It definitely gives you some confidence, especially when the golf swing can have one or two errant shots.
The wind has been swirly and my caddie, Will, and I have been doing well with clubbing on different holes and different shots, so it's been good.
Q. Yeah, how do you think you progressed over the week it reach I think your best round of the week today?
ROSE ZHANG: I think it's nice to just keep building. I think the conditions got more and more difficult over the last four days. You know, for me to kind of take up the challenge and go for it and feel confident in trying to be the best that I can be out there, it was really good.
Q. Favorite moment from this week, this tournament? Maybe not even on the course. Maybe off the course.
ROSE ZHANG: Actually, it was really funny. Haeran and I on the last hole, on the last putt, we basically had identical putts. She putted to like four feet short and I then I told Will, okay, this is going to be really slow and then I did the same thing.
Both of us laughed at each other because we knew after the hole was, you know, the following swell and it was just a game of finesse that we kind of laughed off.
It just nice to play with Haeran today especially. And to be grouped with Miyu as well with how incredible she's been playing. It's nice to watch your opponents but also friends be able to play so well.
