Quick Quotes
Q. Okay, here with Allisen Corpuz. Just wrapped up the FM Championship. Really solid round today to move up a couple. What was the course like today? We're seeing some tougher course conditions I think.
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, I think a few players have said it was a little wetter to start the week and it feels like it finally dried out over the weekend. Just a few drives going really far which I think always brings the fairways in a little. Greens were really firm. Still rolling really well.
Yeah, definitely played a little tougher over the weekend, but really happy with the week.
Q. Knowing where you were heading into today, what was the thought process? Anything you were focusing on?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I think I knew it would take a big one to win. Obviously I'll come up just short. Mainly just going out there and trying to have fun, good round, make as many birdies as I can.
Q. Obviously Solheim Cup here in a couple weeks. What does this finish do for you too with this being the last playing kind of competition before Solheim?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I'm so excited for Solheim Cup. I think it's top event for me just to be able to play on a team, represent your country. And I'm really happy. I feel like the momentum going into two weeks from now is just on the way up, and really excited for the Netherlands.
Q. Rose is right there with you, too, this week, finishing at the top. What was the chatter like amongst the team members that you saw here this week?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, I know everyone is really, really excited. I think just with Ang being the captain this year, her energy has been so positive and we all want an overseas win really bad.
So, yeah, just everyone's just kind of been talking about let's get ready and let's go there to play.
Q. What were the vibes like in your group today? What did you like playing with the players you were grouped with?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, pretty good friends with Narin and I played a few times with Morgane as well. They're both really, really sweet players and both really steady golfers as well.
It's just nice when everyone is on the fairway and everyone is on the green and everyone has a good look at birdie.
Yeah, I mean, just good vibes.
Q. Nice. Any favorite moments from this week during this tournament? Any favorite holes or favorite interactions with fans, anything like?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, Boston is just one of my favorite stops I think just because Megan Khang is one of my best friends and this is obviously a hometown event for her. We got to see and chat with Malcolm a bit from FM Thursday night dinner. He sat with us because we were eating with Megan, and he is just a really funny guy. Just obviously the investment they have put into this tournament and our Tour is outstanding.
So to be able to spend some time with him, had some family and friends out which is really nice, and, yeah, to go out there and play really well was a bonus.
Q. Last thing I wanted to ask was I don't know if you saw the clip of Megan, you know, superlatives ans stuff like that for players. Did you happen to see it?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: I did.
Q. Okay. Any comments about how she kind of called you out as the person that always picks up the phone for her? Obviously a big week for her, too, this week.
ALLISEN CORPUZ: No, I texted her about it like immediately as soon as I saw the video. No, it's true. I so have emergency bypass on for her. I don't know if you know what that means, but when your phone is on do not disturb, like no matter where your phone is, like my phone is always on silent. When it'll ring and I know it's her, yeah, I'll pick up.
Because I think she's like the one person where I'm like, okay, she'll know when I'm on the golf course, she'll know when not to call me, so if she'll calling, it's important. So I do try to pick up all her calls. (Laughter.)
