Q. One of the few situations that would shock Shane out of the Chase was Ryan Preece winning. How do you make sense of how the end of the race unfolded?

SHANE VAN GISBERGEN: Pretty fresh now. Congrats to the 60.

But one night doesn't sum up our year. I guess we haven't been good enough. It's been cool to be close. Yeah, shame we're not in it.

Q. Do you feel you were given enough information throughout the race?

SHANE VAN GISBERGEN: Yeah, I did.

Q. How would you sum up your regular season, what this team was able to accomplish?

SHANE VAN GISBERGEN: Bits of it were good, as a team obviously we struggled. I'm proud that I've been able to match my teammates on the ovals. I think I've stepped up this year.

But yeah, obviously you want to be in that Chase. Didn't make it.
