TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

August 29, 2026

Adam Scott

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

East Lake Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Could you just talk about the position you're in going into tomorrow, and how did you get here?

ADAM SCOTT: I think it's a good -- I mean, it's a good spot. Within striking distance. It's so congested, though, it's going to need a really great round, I think. I think there's someone lurking who's going to have that.

I think I can kind of stick with my game plan of being fairly conservative at least for the front nine, and if I can execute that, then maybe I've got to start flag hunting a little bit and being a bit more aggressive than I have been, but I'll try to play that by ear when I'm out there.

It's fun to be in the mix for the TOUR Championship and the FedExCup.

Q. You've been through a lot of iterations of these, but I can't recall a time there was so many players so bunched at the top. Is it strictly course related, or is it the fact in previous years there was a lot of guys who were out of it after the first day and didn't care?

ADAM SCOTT: I don't know exactly. I feel like if you went and did your homework and dug deep into the stats of the golf course, you might find something. There are a few anomalies this week. There's been a lot of pars on holes, more than normal, I think. I don't know why.

I think maybe the greens are softer than they have been because maybe they're maturing. I'm not sure.

Q. Very little wind this week. There's that.

ADAM SCOTT: Very little wind. Normally we see a few bad scores out here, and we really haven't seen that, because East Lake can be tough.

Q. Ludvig made a double bogey -- did you at any point on the 1st hole hear him say fy fan?

ADAM SCOTT: Several times. He can't say it with me, I get offended.

Q. I really don't know your history of board watching. How much do you pay attention tomorrow, depending on how you're going?

ADAM SCOTT: I think I need to kind of keep an eye on it because if I'm a couple back and they come out hot, I'd better get moving. I can't wait till the back nine to make up six shots.

Q. Is this an easy course to force it on?

ADAM SCOTT: Not really. You know, it was set up for scoring today.

Q. 15?

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, 15 tomorrow and maybe some pin spots, we might see some variance. I think that would be fun.

Q. I'd like to know what you hit on 9. That's about as back as it gets, I think.

ADAM SCOTT: I hit a 3-iron just to the front edge, nice safe play. Should have hit more.
