Q. What does it take for tomorrow besides the low score? I don't think I've ever seen this at East Lake where it's just so many guys bunched.

CHRIS GOTTERUP: It's going to take a good round regardless. You've got -- it sounds like Viktor just made it, assuming that was him.

Three back and eight guys within four or five shots, it's pretty bunched. Obviously going to have to go out there and make some birdies, but also not overdo it at the same time and just kind of hopefully let it come to me.

Q. How do you do that?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: Make birdies obviously but...

Q. How do you make birdies without being overly aggressive?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: Don't be an idiot basically. If I don't have it, don't push it, but when I can push it, push it.

I feel like this golf course, you get some holes where you can push it, and there's some where -- to I think his question you were asking him before about -- you've just got to hit it to 20 feet and take your medicine and move on.

Maybe tomorrow come towards the end if I need to push it, I'll push it, but we'll see when that time comes.

Q. Are you a big leaderboard watcher typically?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: I glance over at it just to kind of get a feel of what's going on for the day. It's been pretty consistent all day here, all week really. It's been you shoot 4- or 5-under, you move up a couple spots. You shoot 1-under, 2-under, you fall down, and 3-under, 4-under, you hang in your spot. Yeah, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Q. Are there courses on TOUR you played where, if there were no leaderboards, you'd still have a pretty good idea where you stand, and is this one of them?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: I think you always feel that way, and then someone goes out and shoots 10-under. Or I think you -- you're like, all right, that's not too bad, then they start putting pins in funky spots, and all of a sudden 3-under is a really good score.

It really, really depends on the setup. Obviously weather too, but really setup depends on what we're going to shoot.

Q. Did you let yourself be an idiot at all today?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: I didn't think so. I felt like I was pretty idiot-free today. I just couldn't get the ball in the hole, burned a lot of edges. Yeah, I don't think I was an idiot today.

Q. Do you like your chances for Player of the Year, or do you think you have to win tomorrow?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: I mean, I think I have to win tomorrow, but I'd like to win anyway. Yeah, I don't really care about that. If it comes, great, but don't really --

Q. Not on your mind tomorrow?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: No, it definitely will not be on my mind.
