Q. What do you make of this tournament so far?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: So far, so good. I don't really know.

Q. Your play, leaderboard, course, everything.

CHRIS GOTTERUP: I think it's good. I don't really know what to add to the question.

Q. Not sure it's much of a question in the first place.

CHRIS GOTTERUP: It's a bunched leaderboard. Course is in good shape. The wind was a little tougher today, but I feel like it's kind of anyone's ballgame at the top. I guess that's what you want.

Q. Why is it so scorable?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: It doesn't feel that scorable when you're out there. There's a couple holes out there that the greens aren't soft per se, but if you have a wedge in your hand, if you hit a good wedge, it's going to stay where it lands. You get some shorter holes that, if you hit the fairway and hit a good wedge, you can make some birdies. There's plenty of holes you can make bogey on too. I don't know, it doesn't feel like you can overpower it.

Q. Earlier Cam shot 8-under. He expected to be much further back, I think, when we talked to him. When you see that, go out there and then it does feel difficult, is that like a weird mental thing when you see him post one like that?

CHRIS GOTTERUP: No, he's capable. It's definitely not the first time he's done that this year. It definitely got a little harder when the wind switched and picked up a little bit. Like a hole like 15 was really hard to get a club that, one, landed pin high, and two, was on the green. We're hitting from 155. We were laughing and saying, if we played the back box today, there would be a lot of complaining going on.

I think it's just kind of you can get on a run here for sure if you're playing good. Cam did it. It's definitely a hard course to go out and light up, I think.

Q. Do you like those -- like on 15 to the left and 16 to the right, do you like the severity of those? I don't want to say the word fair because the game is not meant to be that way.

CHRIS GOTTERUP: 15 is fine if we're playing that box, but I feel like it's going to be super popular, it is super popular if you're playing that hole with a 4-iron.

16, I'm no golf course architect, but I think it's -- you have to hit an amazing shot in there today. It's hard. I got in the wrong spot today, so probably I don't like it because I hit it in the wrong spot. I could have easily hit it to 20 feet, and I'd say, yeah, it's great.

No, I like the course a lot. You got to hit good shots. That's all it comes down to.
