TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

August 28, 2026

Scottie Scheffler

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

East Lake Golf Club

Press Conference

Q. Considering just how this round got off to a start, that middle part, making five birdies in that stretch, saving some pars in there, how do you characterize today differently from yesterday?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yesterday I had a clean card. Today I made a few bogeys. That's pretty much the difference in the score. Yeah, I don't really have too much to say other than that.

Q. Did you feel like you were fighting something, the swing off the tee, just get in a couple of bad spots? I know 1, missing right both days, is that something just in the head or just like early on kind of working or something?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, there's an out-of-bounds fence on the left. Didn't really hit too bad of a shot there. Then you get a lie there that you can't advance more than 80 yards.

No, I wouldn't say anything is in my head out there. Thank you, though.

Q. What were you thinking as your ball was in the air on 17?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Oh, gosh, get down, as I watched it get in the jet stream up there and fly.

Q. Did you see the jet stream?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: That's what it felt like.

Q. Obviously you got a gust basically?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Basically, by the time we got to No. 9, it started to get pretty windy, especially on 16. It felt like any moment -- especially the last two holes, it felt like any moment they could blow the horn. It was nice to be able to get it in. Yeah, just bad gusts.

Q. A couple of guys said the switch in wind made it more difficult. Anything stand out to you?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It could be hard to judge where it's coming from, especially when it gets gusty like that.

This is a golf course where a lot of times I'm really looking at that American flag over there and just trying to see where the wind is at, and that's kind of where we trust because it's in the middle of the golf course. It doesn't blow very hard here very often, but it does move around quite a bit.

Q. Any thoughts of playing with Ludvig?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: He's an easy guy to get paired with. He's a really nice guy. He's a great competitor, good player as well. He's always very easy to be on the golf course with. It's pretty simple to be paired with him.

Q. Not trying to turn you into Hideki here, but there was a tee shot on 17 that worked out well, but you one-handed it. Why do you do that? Why did you do that?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I hit it off the heel.

Q. Did you know it was going to turn out okay?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, I had a feeling, but I hit it pretty far off the heel.

Q. That happens.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Anything else?

Q. That wouldn't count as stupid probably.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Thanks (laughter).
