Quick Quotes
Q. 66 to start your tournament, obviously very stop/start. Give us your thoughts.
DAVIS BRYANT: Yeah, very pleased, with the delays and everything. I was saying walking over here, you have to stay patient until your time comes. Either you're playing 36 today or tomorrow if you make the cut. Everything has to deal with the same thing. Yeah, awesome day.
Q. Last group out yesterday, delayed start. How hard was it stay focused and warm getting ready to start that round?
DAVIS BRYANT: Not too bad. We've all played golf long enough to deal with delays and bad weather and lightning and all this other stuff. Tried to keep my mind off the golf, really. Netflix. Read a little bit. Hang out about my sister. She's here this week. Yeah, that's about it.
Q. How is the course playing out there, and is there a stark difference between the practise rounds and the heat to how it's playing now?
DAVIS BRYANT: Yeah, completely different. Now we have to worry about our spin a little bit versus the first couple days of the week, it was like how much is the ball bouncing.
But the course is in phenomenal shape. Green are rolling well. Bunkers look fantastic considering the rain that we've got.
Hats off to the superintendent and the greens team. It's great test. Love the course. Got to keep it in play. And yeah, off to a good start.
Q. You're having a consistent year so far, not missing a cut since South Africa. What do you put that down to?
DAVIS BRYANT: I think just building some momentum each week. Trying to do a lot of the same stuff. Good routine. If it's working, don't change a whole lot.
I think, yeah, you know, I just kind of have been in a really good mindset the last three or four months. Good mental state, and yeah, just I feel like I've got a chance to try and finish in the Top 10 every week, and fortunately, I've done that a couple times. Now we have eight or nine events left in the season, and hopefully we can maybe get lucky one week.
Q. Is there any part of your game in particular that you've been working on or anything you've been proud of?
DAVIS BRYANT: Putting has been a lot better this year. That's one thing I looked at last year, where it was not where it needed to be if you wanted to compete week-in, week-out.
Putting has definitely been an area where I've gotten better. Just hole another 15-, 20-footer every round, and it adds up after four days. I'm pleased with where that's at and keep it rolling.
Q. Potentially more bad weather coming, and we don't know exactly what's going to happen. What does the rest of the day look like?
DAVIS BRYANT: Breakfast, maybe second breakfast, lunch, gym, sauna, steam room. Go to the hot tub. Hang out. I'm staying onsite this week, so it's pretty nice and convenient.
Again, keep your mind off golf. We'll have plenty of time to think about that when the time comes. Hang out. I have friends that came from London. I'll enjoy my time with them and my sister, too.
