Arpichaya Yubol

Boston, Massachusetts, USA

TPC Boston

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Arpichaya Yubol after her first round here at the FM Championship, continuing some of the great success you had at Portland. What's been working so well in your game?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: So I would say my putter is still wake up like from Portland, and also after Portland I'm still kind of like busy with my new house. Like bought furniture, internet in my house, everything. I don't have enough time like to spend for the practice.

So I don't want to say it like this because this is my job, so you have to get ready every week before you go to the tournament, right?

But this year I'm do pretty good and every time -- I think this year I'm growing up a lot because my game plan, my thinking, and especially like go on the course with my caddie, my thinking always positive all the time.

And then, yeah, just keep doing good.

Q. Yeah. You had the stretch of four birdies in a row. What worked well in that stretch?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Did I do four birdie in a row?

Q. Yeah. Four, five, six, and seven. You birdied all four.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Kind of stuck to start on hole No. 2 a little bit. Start with bogey, but, you know, just start like second hole.

And then I just keep positive all the time. Like you can make birdie every hole on this course because like I'm still have memory from myself last two year in here. I'm do pretty good, too.

So just playing on my plan and then it's kind of work. And then putter is doing good6. My ball on the fairway. And then, yeah, just birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie, yeah. (Smiling.)

Q. And to finish with a birdie on No. 18 as well, what kind of confidence does that give you heading into the rest of the weekend?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Oh, my God. I would say I just bogey on 17 and I'm thinking, okay, you have one more hole, par-5. On my third shot I would say I have 69 yard to the pin and then I see the pin position. Like if you go long it's going to be gone forever, so like you're kind of like not easy to come back to make par.

I just talk to myself, okay if you make par, all right. You're going to still have 3-under. You do a little bit -- if you think like you need birdie too much and then you getting long, you cannot come back with par and then you going to have just 2-under. So I talk to myself, all right, just keep it short and just make par. Or if you hit perfect number you're going to have chance to make birdie.

And then, yeah, I make it. It's going to be make me of course get me like more confident for tomorrow and weekend, too, yeah.

Q. And then last one: You talked about it a little bit. You took last week off to buy some things for your house. How is it being a new home owner and what are some things you still have to do?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Oh, my God. (Laughing.) So now I feel how dad and mom when they have to do work and then get money to bought like furniture or everything, like the correct to your house.

So now I would say I'm bought everything already. Like I'm -- before Portland I'm still sleep on the floor because I don't have bed, but after Portland, all right, you make money for the furniture, yes.

So dad and mom allow me you can buy anything you want. So the first thing I bought is my bed and mattress on my bedroom. So now I can sleep on any bedroom right now.

Q. What size mattress did you buy?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: King size, yeah. Of course.

Q. Are there any future purchases coming up? Anything else you're looking to purchase?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yes. So I have everything except TV.

Q. Important.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Very important because my dad, he got to watch Netflix like a whole day, yeah, so...
