Q. All right, here with Lindy Duncan after her first round here at the FM Championship. Obviously want to talk Solheim Cup with you, but start with the play here.

A little quiet round for you, but still solid overall. How would you assess the course and what you were able to take advantage of?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I had a pretty busy week coming into this week, so only had a nine-hole practice round and then the pro-am yesterday. So I kind of didn't know what to expect with the course, but it played a little bit firmer than in the pro-am, and I did a good job of hitting a lot of fairways and greens. And my lag putting was especially good today, so pretty solid day.

Q. Obviously making the Solheim Cup team for this year. How big of a goal was that for you this year?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, it was a huge goal and I knew I was close and wanted to play well. I feel like my game has been super close but not quite the results that I was hoping for, but was lucky to get a pick.

I feel like my game is definitely trending, and a week off after this will be great and then getting over there and getting with the team will be awesome.

Q. Yeah. Kind of leads me to my next question: Do you feel a little different playing out there, a little more free maybe?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I think so. In the practice round or in the pro-am yesterday I think I was mentioning to my caddie, John Killeen, that after last week it felt pretty heavy and I felt a little bit lighter, even though I was extremely tired.

I think so for sure, yeah.

Q. And then, getting to talk about the emotions of joining that Solheim Cup team, just talk about the emotions, getting that call from Angela.

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, it's been a long journey and I'm one of the oldest rookies probably ever, and that's kind of a cool thing.

You know, I feel really lucky to have been able to have a long career up to this point. I want to play until I can't play anymore. I just love it and I'm really looking forward to bringing some of that stuff that I've been through to the team. And I feel like I can bring a real fighting spirit.

Q. You were a very, very, very popular pick among your peers. I think everybody we asked about having an older rookie like yourself on the team were so excited for you. What did the response of your peers mean to you?

LINDY DUNCAN: It's overwhelming. I got so many messages. It's really nice. I feel just so grateful to have made so many great friends and great relationships. There is so many great people that we work alongside, all the LPGA staff, the media. We were all just a big team.

So it feels really great and I'm really thankful for that.

Q. To you have round like you did today, does it feel gratifying? I know it's been a whirlwind of a week so far for you, but does it feel kind of gratifying having to battle so hard for that spot and now rounding into form just in time for arguably one of the bigger moments of your career?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, that's a good point. I feel like my game has been trending in that direction for a while. It's just been a little here or there, momentum. And so I am really just trying to be as well-rounded as I can.

I'll use next week to practice on some things as well.

But it was pretty tough out there. I mean, the pins were tucked today and the wind was gusty, so it felt like, you know, make some good pars, hopefully drop a few birdies. I had quite a few chances that just missed.

So felt like a very good day.
