Quick Quotes
Q. Welcome to The Belfry. How much do you enjoy being here and back on home soil?
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, it's one of the tournaments that when you start the season, one of the tournaments that you're looking forward to the most. Great to be back playing in front of a home crowd and on home turf. Yeah, it's good.
Q. You obviously had a bit of a stop, start season so far. Talk us through how you are at the moment. How is the body see? How is the game?
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, after I had a break, my body has been pretty good. Physically kind of still fighting stuff which is a bit annoying. But just kind of part of of the process of trying to get over that, and it's kind of a matter of time. I think by the end of this year, I'll be feeling kind of myself again.
So just having to do a lot of management, not playing too much, even though I'd like to play every week, but yeah, it's not possible at the moment.
Q. Given that, what do you reflect on your PGA TOUR season so far and the rest of of the year?
MARCO PENGE: I think my season has been okay. I'm 111, 112 on the FedEx. That's probably not a true reflection of kind of how I've played at times. Only played 15 events this year and missed seven or eight through your, which is annoying. I feel like I've only played a quarter of a season in a way. It's been a bit stop/start. I've been in contention three or four times which is great. Yeah, I feel like I've adapted pretty well.
Q. This week marks the beginning of Ryder Cup qualification. How much is that something you've got your eye on and how much of a goal is that for the next year?
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, of course, it's the pinnacle of golf, and especially European golf. It would be great to be a part of that team, especially after kind of just missing out in the last one.
You know, I'd like to have played all of the Back Nine events over here instead of playing over in the fall in America but unfortunately I haven't earned the rights to be missing events on the PGA TOUR to come back and play. I will have a little bit of a delayed start in terms of trying to get points, but you know, good golf does the talking, and we still have quite a long time before the qualification finishes.
