HUSQVARNA BRITISH MASTERS HOSTED BY SIR NICK FALDO

August 26, 2026

Tyrrell Hatton

Sutton, Coldfield, England

The Belfry Hotel & Resort

Quick Quotes

Q. How much have you been looking forward to this week?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, once I knew the final event in Michigan was not going ahead, we entered the British Masters and I was able to play a couple years ago through the Ryder Cup points starting this week. It's a big week, and I was happy to be able to be here and get some points on the board early.

Q. There's a lot going on in terms of where this week sits in the season, and this is a course that I imagine you know quite well growing up as an English golfer but we have not seen you here for a couple of years?

TYRRELL HATTON: When I played here two years ago, it was the first time I had played it. So I wouldn't say I was overly familiar with it. A few of the holes are iconic, certainly, from the Ryder Cup. But yeah, it's a tricky golf course. You certainly have to drive the ball really well around here. It's sneaky difficult off the tee. Hopefully keep ball in play this week.

Q. How are you driving it at the moment then?

TYRRELL HATTON: Statistically, it's been the worst stat in my career. Maybe I shouldn't play this week but we'll give it our best anyway.

Q. Is it I feel like it's around your favourite time of year with Switzerland, Ireland coming un, and the Dunhill, going for four wins at the Dunhill links. Is this the time of year that you like best?

TYRRELL HATTON: I mean, I've generally started to play some decent golf around this time of year. Yeah, there's a lot of exciting events coming up, and yeah, hope that he can play well at the back end of this year. I've still got six events till my season finishes. Hopefully I can finish strong.

Q. So the Dunhill is where you've enjoyed so much success but this is nothing like a links course. Does it shape up to your game at all apart from the driving you've mentioned already?

TYRRELL HATTON: Why he, I mean, to be honest, I feel like if I'm playing well, I can give myself a chance around any golf course. So yeah, that's really the goal this week. Hopefully I can play well and give myself a chance. It would be nice to add this tournament to the list of events that I've won. I'll give it my best.

Q. You became a dad, as well. A chance for your relatives to spend time with your daughter, too?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, that's certainly a life changer. She's three months old now. We're still in the trenches. It's pretty cool and nice to come home to see them. I'm not too far away from home this week. I'm going to try and travel back-and-forth. I'm not sure if they will end up making the trip up here but anyway it will be exciting to make it home to see them.

Q. Is she a good traveler?

TYRRELL HATTON: She hasn't done that trip yet. They were here in England last week. Certainly for her sleep schedule, it's the easier thing to do, keep her in one place. We have been extremely lucky so far, she sleeps great. Hopefully that continues.

Q. You mentioned Ryder Cup points, and a player just outside the world's top 20 at the moment and have been such a vital part of of the Ryder Cup for the last three or four editions, is that something that you think about at this stage?

TYRRELL HATTON: It's definitely an added incentive to come and play this week. Playing in the last four Ryder Cups, I've qualified for the team automatically and I'd love to keep that streak going. It's something I'm proud of. Yeah, hopefully I won't rely opponent Luke giving me a phone call to say that I've made the team. Hopefully I can make it automatically again.

Q. When you see him in the field, does it focus the mind, knowing that he's going to be keeping an eye on the scores?

TYRRELL HATTON: We're still 12 months out. I think Luke knows what I'm kind of capable of now. But yeah, I mean, obviously Luke playing this week is exciting for everyone involved. Hopefully he can play well, too.

Q. Good for some of of the players that haven't played in Ryder Cups before?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, I think it gives Luke a chance to see a lot of guys up close and gives him an idea of how the team is going to shape up.
