Quick Quotes

JON RAHM: If there's ever a format change that would benefit this team, it's that one. Giving us four stroke-play days where all the scores count, I think it benefits us the way we play. I think we're very consistent tee to green, and that plays to our advantage.

Q. It's been an incredible three-year ride for this team. Can you describe what it's been like these three years winning all these tournaments as a team and you've got two individual wins of course?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, obviously we've traveled around the world together, had some pretty funny times along the way, and as a team we've done incredibly well. Winning last year was very special.

Obviously this time around it's a little bit different, but it's nice to defend the title anyway.

Q. Caleb, you came into the league as the youngest player. Obviously we had the youngest player win the individual title today. Can you just talk about your development over these three years, especially with Jon and Tyrrell leading?

CALEB SURRATT: Yeah, Jon giving me this opportunity has changed my life, and I'm so proud of how much I've gotten better over these last couple years and had the most incredible times, and to finish this year with another win, it's pretty cool.

Q. Tom, just get some thoughts from you. Joining this team, obviously again, just like Caleb, you've been able to gain some experience with Jon and Tyrrell.

TOM McKIBBIN: Yeah, it's been great the last couple years getting to spend time with these guys. To get to play golf pretty much every time I play golf with the best players in the world has been pretty cool, and to win the Team Championship two years in a row is pretty special.

Q. Jon, can you talk about today, chasing Michael? You were tied going into the last hole.

JON RAHM: Well, it's a fantastic round of golf. Been able to go low twice on Sunday when I needed to here. Played just as good as every other day, but today the putts were simply rolling in. It's been feeling good all week, but made the first few, made the long one on 8 and obviously confidence was at an all-time high. Unfortunately the only one that didn't go in was the last one, and with my mistake opening the door, Michael made a great up-and-down on 18 to win. He earned it, and as frustrating as it is for me, I'm happy about all the good things I did this week to give myself a chance.

Q. Tyrrell, you seem a little subdued. Are you excited about this championship?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, well, I think anytime you win is great. As I said, we've been able to do that the last few years a number of times, and we've had a great time together doing it. I just want to get to the airport because I have a flight to catch, so that would be great.

Q. What was today like, not knowing the future but knowing you're competing for a championship?

JON RAHM: I mean, to go down to the most basic aspects of today, do what you can do, control your own shots and shoot the lowest you can and hopefully the rest takes care of itself. I think we did a really good job of that with the winds gusting and the greens towards the end of the day getting a little bit bumpier because of how much rain they've had, which even though they're fantastic, with how much rain they've had, we've done great to put ourselves in position and stay at the top.

Q. With all the questions and the chatter, is it hard to focus on the golf as the season has gone on?

JON RAHM: Not really. No, again, I think the same answer applies. There's been a lot that's surrounded all of us for pretty much since we joined. At the end of the day, once we step on the golf course, it's just golf. Everything else goes away, and we just compete. It hasn't been any harder or easier than it was.

Q. What are the main things you're looking for as you decide what your future will hold?

JON RAHM: I'm looking forward to going home and helping my very pregnant wife with the kids because it's a 3-v-1 right now. It's probably a 4-v-1 with the one that's due in October. Happy to be dad for a few days before I get back for the Irish Open, but mainly looking forward to a haircut tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. because I need one badly.

Q. Three season-long individual championships, two Team Championships. When you first came here and we first interviewed you, you said, I want to win. That was your mission here. Looking back at these three seasons, how do you feel about your performance and just your overall journey over the past three years?

JON RAHM: I think I was saying, both team and individual aspects, mission accomplished. I feel like we've done a phenomenal job. All of them individually felt very different, but I'm happy to come back after not having won last season the great year I've had, and if anything answer those questions with another good season and actually getting it done without a doubt. It's a pretty good feeling.

Q. Adding the team wins for your career, how many victories do you have? What's your answer?

JON RAHM: I don't know.

Q. Do you count the team?

JON RAHM: Well, it depends. Like when you're talking about anybody's career, do you count Ryder Cup wins?

Q. I do.

JON RAHM: I think for myself, just because of the fashion it went down, last year's Team Championship, winning in the fashion that we did is going to be special for me for sure.
