Royal Mayfair Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, we have Gina Kim here after round three of the CPKC Women's Open. Gina, you've been at the top of the leaderboard all week. You've had great composure. How has it kind of felt being out there for you?

GINA KIM: It's felt great. I guess it's something I'm not unfamiliar to, and the last time I got to be in that situation I had really great memories and ended up winning with my partner Yana at that time.

So it's been great. I really enjoy it. I love the nerves. I love the adrenaline. I love people walking down cheering me on.

So it's been fun.

Q. You mentioned you love the adrenaline out here. How has it been on Saturday with the fans and the crowd out there cheering for you?

GINA KIM: It's been lovely. It's amazing to see how many people come out to support this event. And obviously Brooke being as iconic as she is, it's so nice to see families come out, little kids. You know, that's what it's all about. That's why we're out here.

Q. Yeah. And then you had five birdies on the front nine; evened out a little bit on the back nine. Did you feel a little bit of a momentum shift there? If so, what were your thoughts going through the back nine?

GINA KIM: I mean, I'm not sure if it was really quite a momentum shift. I thought I gave myself plenty of chances. You know, putts just didn't fall.

But I thought I played really solid all day. Hopefully tomorrow it can be the same way.

Q. Yeah, and then you're one of the only ones with an eagle out here this weekend. Super rare to get eagles. Seems like birdies are popping off quite often. Is there anything you feel about the course that maybe makes it a little more difficult to achieve that eagle?

GINA KIM: Yeah, obviously the rough is really thick and gnarly, and if you're not in the fairway you're penalized a lot for it.

So I think this course is tough but it's fair, and if you can capitalize on the ones in the fairway, you're usually in a pretty good spot which is what I've been trying to do.

So it's been good.
