Quick Quotes
Q. All right, joined by Laney Frye after her second round at the CPKC Women's Open. Laney, got off to a pretty hot start on the back nine. Can you kind of talk us through the game plan heading into this week, especially with this long rough?
LANEY FRYE: Yeah, I think it's to play freely. Kind of behind the eight ball in points so I was coming in here just ready to give it what I got.
I think the rough, and honestly all the grass, is pretty similar to Kentucky where I grew up playing, so I'm not that thrown off by it maybe.
But it is, you got to bear down and swing hard on a couple.
Q. You mentioned the points. Can you talk us through your rookie season, just how much of an adjustment it is and do you feel like you're getting more comfortable as each tournament goes on?
LANEY FRYE: Yeah, definitely. I honestly have missed the last several cuts and I haven't felt bad about my game. It's been kind of just a little -- I guess I've just been learning that that can happen.
I don't know. You look at the best players in the world and they're consistently up there, and hopefully I'm there one day and I'm playing among them, but I'm not there or I haven't been.
So, yeah, I think it's just been adjusting to playing well and not getting rewarded for it.
Q. Do you feel like there is anything you noticed? You've been playing really well this week. Is there anything that you noticed that has been maybe a little switch that now you're up near the top of the leaderboard?
LANEY FRYE: I think I'm overthinking things less. I'm kind of just getting up and being athletic and playing how I want to, keeping it light and free, because it's going to work out how it's supposed to work out and playing tense isn't going to help that.
Q. Yeah, just a more fun one. The LPGA goes to a lot of places the Epson Tour doesn't. Has there been anything off course that you've experienced on the LPGA that has been fun or rewarding?
LANEY FRYE: Yes. I have such a bad memory, so I'm going to take a second. Mexico comes to mind. Just getting to lounge by the beach and be at a nice resort. That isn't on the Epson Tour.
But we're in big cities. We went to the West Edmonton Mall a couple days ago. It's like the Mall of America and it's huge and there is a water park in there.
So it's kind of just like exploring different parts of the world that we haven't been before.
