Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Brooke Henderson after her second round at the CPKC Women's Open. Brooke, very strong start to the tournament. Obviously defending champion. Now only a handful of shots heading into the weekend. Can you just talk about playing this event and just how it brings out the best in your game?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I love this event. It's so amazing and such a cool opportunity to be able to play in front of all the Canadian fans. They just show me so much love and support year after year. Even early this morning the fairways were lined with people coming out to watch.
Just really trying to embrace the opportunity because it doesn't -- it only really happens once a year, and it's just such a unique thing that not a lot of players get to experience. I'm definitely trying to make the most of it.
Q. Talk about your round today and just kind of where you feel you're positioned through the halfway mark.
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, through about 14 holes I was feeling really nice. Unfortunate to drop a couple shots coming in. Happy to save par on nine. I feel like that was really clutch, kind of saving some momentum and things going into tomorrow.
Playing the weekend I feel like my game is in a pretty good spot, so maybe try to be a little bit more aggressive and see if we can climb.
Q. Is this deficit manageable?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I'm sure this afternoon they'll go out and maybe shoot some low scores, so we'll see what the damage is after today.
It's only half over at this point, so just have to go low myself.
Q. You showed a few weeks ago that you're capable of a pretty significant late charge, so to have that in your back pocket is good to have?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, for sure. That was really fun a few weeks ago in France. Yeah, definitely it gives me some confidence knowing that I can come back from behind.
Q. This atmosphere, you spoke about it earlier, do you get numb to it? Do you have to tune it out? How do you cope with that?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I think it kind of depends on the day honestly. Some days you're good to just really ride high and have a lot of energy and feed off; other times you just have to pay attention to yourself and how you're feeling. Sometimes, yeah, you tune it out a little bit more.
So day to day, even shot to shot honestly you're just going off what you need. I feel like I've kind of learned through the years playing in this event how I can play my best, so just trying to do that.
Q. A lot of young players near the top of the leaderboard. Do those young players just have no fear coming on to this Tour or why are they so able to...
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, maybe. I'm not really sure. Minjee, Lydia and myself were all young long time ago, too, and playing pretty well out here.
So I feel like the women's tour just there are a lot of young players always up and coming and they're playing really well this week.
Q. Brooke, there is some sun on the course today. Do you expect it or are you feeling at all ready that the fairways are getting faster...
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, definitely after yesterday playing in the afternoon it was definitely firming up. This morning just because it was morning and it was a little bit more moist I didn't have that same feeling.
I'm sure by this afternoon and going into tomorrow it's going to start to play a little bit differently, so just adjusting and playing smart out there.
Q. You just referenced it, (regarding Evian). How confident are you that you can make up a lot of ground on the weekend?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, like I said, it's only half over. They played really well the first two rounds, so I just need to play well the next two.
