Royal Mayfair Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. We have Natasha Oon here after the second round of the CPKC Women's Open. Natasha, after feeling like you were a little bit off last week, what does it mean to you to put yourself in such a strong spot here?

NATASHA OON: I think it means like that the work is always there even if you don't see it. I actually played I think really well last week and I wasn't feeling off at all. I was just kind of like, ahhhh. You know, it didn't make sense a little bit. I felt good. I played good.

I just think like, you know, this is a nice time for things to come together and it's really nice to see everything tie up really well.

Q. Yeah, and then you had such good momentum on holes 14 through 16 with birdies there. What was going through you're mind there and a little bit about your game plan?

NATASHA OON: I think it was more like, you know, you see the cut staring at you. You see like -- but you're hitting good shots.

But I didn't really feel comfortable out there but I was just more like, if I could kind of just commit to a shot then that's really all I could do, because I really, really trusted myself out there.

So it's really nice to see that.

Q. Got you. And then did you feel like the course played any differently today compared to yesterday?

NATASHA OON: They had some like really hard pin positions today, but I think today, like we'll see some birdies really drop. So, you know, I went low and I hope a lot of people also go low because it's for a good cause.

But, yeah, it kind of played the same, yeah.

Q. Last question: Strong finish to your second round here. How do you hope to continue this momentum into the weekend?

NATASHA OON: Really hope to continue it, but honestly, I'm just so glad I get to enjoy a weekend. Like really, really happy.

Q. Awesome. Great round.

NATASHA OON: Thank you.

Q. Sorry, I am going to ask you one more. You knew you were going to be playing on Tour for a long time before you started your rookie season due to injury.

NATASHA OON: Yeah.

Q. Looking back at this year now that we're about 75 percent of the way through, how are you feeling and how does it feel to be finally be playing on Tour?

NATASHA OON: You know, I always like compare like how would I have like played my tour if I didn't get injured versus now when I got injured.

But I think I just come after so long with like such a growing mindset, and I think the people around me -- and I've been like more confident to be myself out here, because I feel like I got to know myself a lot more.

You know, it was a tough time, but I think timing is everything and everything happens for a reason, so for sure like, you know, wouldn't change a thing and learned a lot.

Q. Sorry, one more: Like you mentioned, birdies are for such a good cause today.

NATASHA OON: Yeah.

Q. So often in golf you are playing for something so much bigger than yourself. Just what does to mean to see yourself contribute to such a good cause?

NATASHA OON: I'm really, really glad that that cause is here and I got a lot of birdies, so I'm like you know, ever sing birdie putt I'm like, for the kids.

I think it's just a fun way that we get to interact and help the kids and, you know, golf is so much bigger than me and that golf is contributing to a great cause. It's great.
