TV Quick Quotes

Q. Give us the state of your game because I heard G-Bo telling you nothing but good things, and you hit a lot of shots right on line, but you're not totally pleased with it.

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Well, again, the expectations are trying to be the best I possibly can be, and I know what I've done before, and when I get over a tee shot and I hit the shot like I did on the last hole and then pulled the left shot and hit a fat, chunk shot wedge on a par-5 that's a pretty easy birdie hole, kind of disappointing.

But that's the perfectionist in me, and that's the competitor in me. I wish I could have done a little bit differently finishing, but look, I played a great round of golf. I'm not really going to complain; I'm just going to focus on the things I need to work on and go get better.

Q. Also, off the course you're focused on a lot more. How are you able to compartmentalize what you have to do on the course with all the work you're doing behind the scenes to ensure the future prosperity of this league?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, I think, look, it's tough. It's not easy. We definitely have a lot against us. But I think behind the scenes we've got a lot of people that are working hard to make this possible for not only all the players that are out here but all the fans that have come out to these events and the economic impact that we've made in all these places, whether it's South Africa, here in Indy or Australia, numerous places across the world, the UK, all the different places we've been in the U.S. Even Nashville when we played a few years ago was unbelievable.

I think we just have a bit of a responsibility to continue to show this. If it works, it works; awesome. If it doesn't, we'll figure things out. Time will move on, and I would say that time heals things. I hope people can see that we actually bring value to the game of golf. My wish is that people give us one more shot and be open minded.

Q. Talking about moving on, this is the Team Championship; are we going to have a little text message chain with the rest of the team tonight?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: I don't know what happened. I don't know what we finished, but I think we're in dead last. So look, there's been times where we were almost dead last and then we came back and won like last week in New York. Maybe they need some better sleep or something. I have no idea. They're all individuals on their own; they're grown men. They're all older than me, so I can't really kick them in the butt or do anything because they'll just look at me and go, what are you doing; you're like our son.

Nothing I can do there, but I'm just hoping we can turn it around.
